  • The only Black-owned grocery store in the City of Detroit has officially opened its doors with the mission to help people get healthy. It's called Neighborhood Grocery, and it's a liquor store that was turned into a health food shop on the corner of Essex and Manistique in Detroit's Jefferson-Chalmers neighborhood.

      There was a black owned ice cream shop in San Francisco and the hood didn't spare him... Robbed his place 2x, and stuck their fingers in all the ice cream the second time they robbed him.
      Patrons, over half non-black, collected money for him to stay open after the 1st robbery but he ended up closing shop after the 2nd.
      And you guessed it. The people who robbed him were black.

    • @Blurb777
      @Blurb777 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thieves have no respect for anyone - much less themselves. They don't care if you are black or yellow or red or white. All they want is your money without having to earn it the respectable way. I hope this hard working visionary is never abused, taken advantaged of, or robbed - especially by people of color. And I say "especially," because all the videos show a near 100% of mob thefts or even single thefts in black neighborhoods are committed by blacks too lazy, stupid or evil to work. If that happens, if they abuse this good man who is doing good for his community out of compassion and has the intelligence, fortitude and vision to make a difference, then I hope those thieves who would rob from him end up starving to death - because they would have robbed people of their honest, hard and dignified labor. Equity doesn't mean a thing to people who just want but don't want to work for it. May this young man be strong as a mountain, and indomitable.

    I grew up in the impoverished part of town. We had these small grocery stores all over the neighborhoods. They are all gone now except for one, it's called Lesman's. Times were good back then but after the civil unrests of the late 60's then things really started changing. Here we are 55 years later trying to do it all over again. btw Good for this guy and his store, we need thousands more like it.

      I also applaud the man who is the driving force who dared to provide a a much-needed resource. From what I can tell, the products available are unattractive to the casual shoplifter and organized shoplifting "sellers". I think the high concrete steps may help to deter thefts as thugs may "trip" over their feet as they are running out with stolen goods while being chased by concerned members of the community.

      No need, he won’t be in business long lol. His own community will just rob and run him out of businesses. Just like they did with the store that was there before.

    Disgraceful, the bare minimum being lauded. Oh Black folks when will you climb out of this mediocrity?

    Let's see how long that lasts!!! It's basically illegal for black people to do well or help their community so let's watch what happens!! I'm betting that within 3 years that supermarket will not exist!! Imminent Domain will be used to destroy it and the government will just let it happen and send it's thoughts and prayers!!!!

    Lmao. Yall have no shame with the lies you report. This might be a new store but this for damn sure is not the first black store in Detroit. In the city of Notorious Motown not having a black business district or stores ever in history? Stop fueling lies...

    How about we make this just as popular as the negativity the black community gets in Detroit.

    Organic fare, expensive food with little real health benefits. It strikes me as unlikely that this is the first blacked owned grocery store in Detroit, what happened to them?

    • @CrystalKing-pj1jj
      @CrystalKing-pj1jj 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The people in their own community rob and run them out. Same thing happened with the store before this one. It was robbed and then burned down. Same will happen with this one.
