Ohjaja Tom, he realizes the trick and he's like: I followed all this absurd treatment for nothing. There I'm starting to say: "Jerry, you better run, you're dead."
Tom and Jerry mastered the art of comedy in animation. The set up, the music, the timing, the absurdity, it’s all done with so much grace that I’ve seen every classic Tom and Jerry episode so much that I can see a random frame from any episode and I could tell you the story that led up to it and how it’ll progress yet it gets the hardest laugh out of me without fail. My parents raised me right to watch this with them on boomerang
Tom has always been a victim of Spike's pummel without realizing that Jerry is the one who framed Tom, let alone siding with Spike. The 2014 Tom and Jerry series, while it's not everyone's cup of tea, shows that Jerry ended up getting pummelled into the hands of Spike in the same way as Tom does and vice versa.
@@poweroffriendship2.0that’s because Spike finally noticed that it was Jerry bothering Tyke and framed Tom for stealing bones and messing with Tyke so as the results, Jerry no longer try to frame Tom with spike or Tyke anymore although in some episodes, Jerry and/or Tuffy did manage to get Tom in trouble by sabotaging Tom’s task as seen on the episode “No contest” when Jerry sabotaged Tom’s tasks of teaching Tyke how to win an olympics game.
I never realized how many times they made the gag of Tom tricking Spike by using dog tricks lol. I really love old cartoons, they just have this charm to them that new ones cannot replicate very well
The entire sequence from 0:23 to 1:00 has to genuinely be my all-time favourite scene in all of T&J. From the whole "goodbye" scene, the way Spike was so easily fooled by Tom, the way Spike immediately stops once he realised he's been fooled, the surprisingly well-done animation of Spike's head turning into a jackass (which I didn't get as a kid; for the longest time, I thought he turned into a regular donkey and it was a reference to some old thing.), his growl and little sparks after he starts running and the music further enunciating how peeved off he is, to the final bit at the end when Tom gets crushed by the door (which I replayed *continuously* as a kid, that's how much I loved it!), it all works together to create something I still find funny even thought it's been years since I last saw the cartoon.
