@homer3152 Thank you for the nice comments, homer. No wine list or menu, since it was domestic flight. UA only gives out menus for their P.S. flights. Yes, this was molecular gastronomy. Lots of liquid nitrogen used. It was pretty amazing food. It was truly a culinary experience!
Looks fantastic. I flew from the states to Manchester one class below business with this airline and loved it. The people so nice. Infact I prefered it from Virgin, and that's saying something as they are good too. If eneough people buy my book in December, maybe I can fly business next time. Brilliant bit of filming.
@207SUZANNE Thank you very much! Yes, hopefully with the merger, United will get even better. I think they will get rid of the current UA caterer and go with CO's caterer (which has much better food). Thank you for the comment, and good luck with your book sales!
@scorpgc Thank you. I think the service is better. I think with the merger, the morale has probably gone up. I really think it is better. The food has improved, but it has a long ways to go. Thank you for the comment.
I flew this route to IAD just a couple of weeks ago. Looking out the windows of a fully loaded 777 (literally every seat was filled) taking off of 1R was a harrowing experience. Those Pratts are powerful though!
Because the plane is actually slanted a little nose up at cruise. When you sleep backwards, you head is actually a little up over your feet, which is more comfortable than having your head below your feet.
@teevtee Yes, I had been to Trotters before, and it was great, so we wanted to try something else. I have heard that MK's is also a great place, so maybe next time, I"ll do that one!
@ie210 I do not know the registration, but you are correct. It was the plane taken out of the "desert" as they say on Flyertalk. I assume Victorville is the long-term storage in the desert?
@BigSam3788 I am unfamiliar with ORD's layout, unfortunately. Not sure which runway we landed on. SFO is a nice and easy airport to figure out with good landmarks because of the water. Thank you for the comment!
Thank you very much for another wonderful video..and a classy american touch..corn soup and warm chocolate chip cookies..yay, lol! Was there a wine list? Loved also the shots from the restaurant..was this molecular cooking? At least partly, I thought, when I saw the frozen dishes.
@TonyMcGriffles I think once the new CO seats come out, they will be similar, but the present-day business class seats are still no the same. I think the new US Airways envoy also will be similar, but the old style is just not there yet.
@TheJosh2468 Good question. I believe you are correct. Is IAE the same thing as CMF? I think UA uses CMF engines for their Airbuses. But I think you're right about P & W for the rest of their fleet.
@teevtee I just saw the website. They won't even let you into the website without registering! Crazy. I'll try that if I can ever get a table, one day! Thanks.
@737823 Thank you! Usually not. As long as you don't video people's faces, they're fine with it. I try as much as possible not to show anybody's face or any identifying information.
They should use Boeing 747s for flights from Washington Dulles to both San Francisco and Los Angeles also if they can use one for a flight that is only halfway across the country.
I really dont like the original united planes, but i love the ex continental planes. Maybe im biased (flew continental for 15 years) but its just me. Maybe u should give jetblue a chance!
The food looks amazing! great video
@Rockoar Thank you! I believe it's the only 744 used for domestic flights. That was a deep dish chicago style pizza. They are all over Chicago!
Dude, I seriously wish I was there! Very good job!
Go SFO!.
I realy like the commentary, its great to compare thoughts and makes the video more interesting. Real good videos here Im subbed!
@applmac2009 No, these are all forward facing in the B747. However, in the B767 lie-flat seats, some are forwards and some are backwards.

@usair97 Yeah, that is one of their signature dishes. I saw it in their cookbook also. Thanks for the comment!
@19bootsy68 Thank you for the comment. Yes, it is nice that they have lie-flat seats on United for domestic flights!
@scorpgc Thank you. I think the service is better. I think with the merger, the morale has probably gone up. I really think it is better. The food has improved, but it has a long ways to go. Thank you for the comment.
@dkt3wings Thanks! Yes, we took the B747 on the way back, ORD-SFO.
I flew this route to IAD just a couple of weeks ago. Looking out the windows of a fully loaded 777 (literally every seat was filled) taking off of 1R was a harrowing experience. Those Pratts are powerful though!

Thanks for your kind words.
Your videos are awesome. I'd never have the guts to walk down an aisle with a camera. Do pax/FAs/staff ever ask you? Please keep them coming!
cool I've always wanted to try and fly business class good video.
@bluepanther1011 Maybe, I am not sure. This serves the ORD-AMS route after this domestic flight, so it may be.
@teevtee Yes, I had been to Trotters before, and it was great, so we wanted to try something else. I have heard that MK's is also a great place, so maybe next time, I"ll do that one!
@BAflyer12 Yeah, they weren't too bad at all, especialyl for a domestic flight.
@TheJosh2468 Yes, they are P & W! Thank you for the nice comment!
@ie210 I am not sure. But the B767 cannot make it ORD-HKG. I believe the B767 goes from ORD to AMS. They have a B747 that goes ORD-HKG.
@MistaJ0001 Thank you. Happy travels to you!
i love these videos. keep em up!
@ie210 I do not know the registration, but you are correct. It was the plane taken out of the "desert" as they say on Flyertalk. I assume Victorville is the long-term storage in the desert?
@FlightSimulatorXATC Yes, they are incredibly powerful, aren' they? Thank you for your comment!
@BigSam3788 I am unfamiliar with ORD's layout, unfortunately. Not sure which runway we landed on. SFO is a nice and easy airport to figure out with good landmarks because of the water. Thank you for the comment!
@TheBadkid1001 Yes, Chicago is a great city. I personally can't deal with the winters there, but it is one of America's great cities, no question.
Thank you very much for another wonderful video..and a classy american touch..corn soup and warm chocolate chip cookies..yay, lol! Was there a wine list? Loved also the shots from the restaurant..was this molecular cooking? At least partly, I thought, when I saw the frozen dishes.

@teevtee Yes, that was Giordono's, I believe. You are good! You must live in Chicago.
Yes, back in the day.
@Yelegdir United mileage plus, of course!
@TheJosh2468 Good question. I believe you are correct. Is IAE the same thing as CMF? I think UA uses CMF engines for their Airbuses. But I think you're right about P & W for the rest of their fleet.
@FrameFreaks88 Thanks for the nice comment!
Actually backwards is better for sleeping. I always choose backwards facing seats if I can.
Thank you.
@pbateson I am not sure. I did not look!
@GThazard Thank you!
@Ben123planes Although that's true sometimes, I usually order the tasting menu, so I am totally stuffed by the end of the dinner!
@Goku2454 Thank you!
Lots of people fly between SFO and ORD!
Thanks.
thanks for the comment.
Those old business seats look really comfortable, and they seem to go almost flat.
@TheJosh2468 This is great to know. Thanks for the info!
Back when this video was made!
@awangj1 Thank you very much!
Love Chicago, I was born there then moved to the bay area.
@teevtee I just saw the website. They won't even let you into the website without registering! Crazy. I'll try that if I can ever get a table, one day! Thanks.
@myfriendbob100 Thank you!
Been on that ....AMAZING
I love American! it's been my favorite ever since I was little
@gmanist1000 Thank you!
where did yah take the 747 too? nice video
@dilson0070 Thank you so much!
@737823 Thank you! Usually not. As long as you don't video people's faces, they're fine with it. I try as much as possible not to show anybody's face or any identifying information.
I have. Delta is great.
@carlvincent12 You are too kind. But sometimes it is better to stay at home!
The outbound is a B767 and the return is a B747. Take a look at my captions. It tells you which plane I am on when.
I've seen that plane at Phx before
SFO is my hometown airport. Cool vid dude! Did you catch what runway you landed on at ORD?
wow can i ask how you get to fly all the time?
are the seat turned backwards??
what mileage card do you use?
Have you ever flown american or delta
does any carrier still fly 747 domestic?
Nice
The seats are point backwards??? Weird...
what is?
since when do they use 747s on a domestic flight
wow. a 747 just to go from SFO to ORD?
nice
IDK why but i just love planes
@TonyMcGriffles Will be interesting when it happens.
oh, I see.
problem with fine dining is that you pay loads to have tiny portions and end up having to stop at McDonalds on the way home to fill up...
Is that a general electric engine?
not sure.
They should use Boeing 747s for flights from Washington Dulles to both San Francisco and Los Angeles also if they can use one for a flight that is only halfway across the country.
@sfflyer123 yeah the winter I cannot stand!
@tand324 hi, consulting is great! i also have fun!
@tand324 Consulting!
I really dont like the original united planes, but i love the ex continental planes. Maybe im biased (flew continental for 15 years) but its just me. Maybe u should give jetblue a chance!
sir, it is good to be you
@jman036 Sure. I am in consulting. Check my youtube hompage, which describes why I fly all the time! thank you!
