Australia had a few of these steam rail motors spread across the country. Another was the broad gauge Deepdene Dasher in Melbourne on the suburban network as an economy measure nearly 100 years ago. For coal I think they had a little bunker next to the driver.🇦🇺
You should be very proud of your railway. I found the volunteer very welcoming and I had a wonderful time. I am a volunteer on the Zig Zag Railway near Lithgow and we are hoping to start running again in early 2017.
Stop planning and start doing. It doesn't even matter what you do. Working with any group for a general public good is a rewarding experience a lot of the time. But there will always be those days when you think "why am I doing this"?
Wow that is one tiny steam engine! That is truly a one of a kind locomotive. (From what I've seen) Simply amazing!
Yea a neat little engine. From I have been told, it is crewed by a selected few
How does it run without a tender? Fantastic video. No apologies necessary.

Did you catch any videos of the Pichi richi explorer while you were there for three days
I got both the Pichi Richi explorer and the Afghan express. I will be uploading them over the next month or so (as I have time to edit them)
