I have always cruised with Carnival. Since I'm a solo traveler I can't justify paying for double occupancy anymore. They do not have any accomodations for the solo traveler. Since I've learned that NCL and Royal have cabins for solo travelers, l have decided to cruise with them. In fact I was scheduled for the Canada, New England cruise starting today. Of course it was cancelled. Thanks for the video, now I know what to expect.

I've watched dozens of NCL videos about the Studio rooms and lounge. Watching this particular video though made the rings seem so much smaller and my claustrophobia went in to overdrive. I know I'm only going in the room to sleep and shower but still. I've wanted to try a studio since they were introduced on Epic. Now I'm having my doubts. Going on the Getaway May 1st for 10 days. I guess the drink package will help calm my nerves. 😂😅🙄🍷🍸🍹🍺🍻🥂

That shower with the jets...My mom and I rented a private apartment in Rome when we went. The woman that managed the property for the owners pointed out the nice shower with massaging jets and mentioned how you could even set a timer for the jets. I was totally looking forward to that. Thing was, in the folder with all the info for the apartment, there were no instructions on how to use the shower. I fiddled with everything to no avail. Totally bummed I couldn't get the jets to come on.
Middle of the night I get up to use the bathroom and hear water running. Yep. At some point while fiddling I had managed to set the timer for the jets. So now the jets are going and I have no idea how to turn them off. Just had to let them run until the timer turned them off. LOL.

Review! Carnival vs Norwegian rooms. It’s really long so I apologize😬😣 just wanted to give some feedback from my experiences in Carnival and from seeing this video! Maybe it’ll help some people in deciding which rooms to pick and which lines to cruise with❤️
I’ve only ever cruised with carnival (only two cruises so not MUCH experience lol). The first time I was on the Carnival Splendor in a balcony room (I cruised with my entire family of 10 people and shared the room with my aunt. We all had a mix from balcony rooms to ocean view to interior cabin rooms) the second time I cruised by myself on the Carnival Inspiration and was in an interior room.
So I wanted to give a few comparisons just from my experiences.
    1. Norwegian has the bathrooms DOWN!👏🏼👏🏼 Carnival can’t compete with those bathrooms lol. They have actual cabinets in there, the shower heads are high class (even in the “low class” rooms) and they’re removable!, there’s SO MUCH SPACE! Just top tier bathrooms all around.
    2. Norwegian all around has Carnival beat in how everything looks. Like everything just looks beautiful and extravagant even if the rooms are kind of...not that extravagant lol. Everything just looks amazing! If you’re in a lower end room on a Carnival ship, you know it😂
    3. Norwegian’s storage space in terms of cabinets and drawers is amazing! There is very little of that on Carnival. You usually get a vanity area that has only a couple of drawers and that’s about it (I think my room had 4?) Norwegian has them EVERYWHERE! That’s great!
    4. So here’s where I start seeing the better with Carnival. Even in the suites on Norwegian, Carnival’s closet’s are better. In my interior cabin room I had 3 closets (2 for hanging, and one full of shelves that had the safe. The shelf closet was in the middle with the two hanging ones on the ends), and even in the suite rooms on Norwegian they only had 2 sides, and they were TINY. And the doors had to slide because there wasn’t enough room to have them be opening doors. On carnival the closet door opened and there was a mirror that was probably 3/4 length on the inside of the door (on my first cruise a while ago anyway. It may have just been the one ship or because we had the balcony room idk). The only consolation for this is that Norwegian has so much other storage space that I guess it kinda of makes up for the lack of closet🤷🏼‍♀️
    5. So I think it’s cool that Norwegian has rooms specifically for single travelers, buuutttt the size of those rooms is just...sad..😬 on a ship that size and with all the other rooms shown being so spacious, you’d think that they’d give just a LITTLE bit more space (especially since it’s a “special area”)! Again, I had an interior cabin when I cruised alone for mine, and my cabin was MASSIVE compared to that one.. I know my cabin isn’t designed for only one person, but at the same time, while I’m on a cruise I don’t want to feel like I’m stuck in a tiny box, no matter how good that box looks. I realize you won’t be in there all that often, but still, it’s YOUR space while you’re in there. You should at least feel at home and not claustrophobic. I’ve seen actual closets bigger than that😬 Carnival wins the interior cabin on this one...and again with the closet. I don’t think you could even fit a duffel bag between the closet and the bed, let alone trying to get out of bed over there? I’d have to get out of bed by scooching my butt all the way to the end lol. Yikes.
    5. The balconies are almost identical. Except for that really cool extended one with the full length lawn chairs. To my knowledge Carnival doesn’t have those. So those were pretty cool! But the normal ones are pretty close! I think MAYBE Carnival’s might be slightly bigger length wise, but to be fair I’m going off of a few second clip in a video, and a memory from 9 years ago😳😂 so I definitely could be wrong.
FINAL CONCLUSION (only based on Carnival experience and this video alone):
If you want to go on a cruise know you’re going to stay in an interior room (and don’t really care about how incredible a shower is for a few days. Carnival’s are still good but not THIS good) choose Carnival. Their interior rooms are definitely less cramped and have MUCH more closet space to make up for the lack of cubbies and drawers. (Also a helpful tip is to get a handicap room. It helps with the bathroom situation. I got randomly put in one because my cruise was right before the shut down and we were sailing at basically half capacity so I got put in a “bigger” interior room which is a handicap room. As long as you’re not taking it from someone who actually needs it!!!)
For the balcony rooms, they are almost the same. Basically it’s a preference of color scheme😅 and a preference of how you like to cruise. Carnival is all about the fun, the party, the games, the comedy (best in the business!!). From what I’ve read, Norwegian is more laid back and about relaxation and has better entertainment (like more sophisticated entertainment shows like actual plays and musicals and more serious stuff with real actors). Carnival involves the audience and wants you to have fun, I think Norwegian wants to SHOW you the fun...if that makes any sense? So for picking a balcony room, it’s just about which cruise line you like better and which experience you’d prefer. Extravagant fun or party fun.
If you have the money to spend, definitely go all out and get that suite on a Norwegian Cruise! It’s definitely more extravagant and has a lot more to offer! Especially with the bathrooms lol. Also, Carnival just doesn’t have that many suites to offer.. I really don’t know how many Norwegian does, but I know that on a Carnival ship there’s only a couple. And they sell out VERY FAST. So the logical choice is to go Norwegian for a suite.
And just a side note, I didn’t really mention the ocean view rooms. They are just really different so there’s not a lot I can compare. On Carnival it’s basically just what an interior room looks like, but it has a window. They can either be 2 tiny porthole windows or they can be 2 bigger like 2x4 sized windows (that’s just a guess on the size). I’ve never seen the front facing ocean view room on Carnival though. The only thing is that (again) the rooms just seem bigger on Carnival. When they showed the ocean view room it just seemed a lot smaller than the ocean view rooms we had on our cruise. But maybe it’s just because it’s in a video, I don’t know.
Again, I’m just basing this off of what I saw in this video!! I’ve never sailed with Norwegian (or anyone besides Carnival) and I’ve only sailed with Carnival twice. But I did get the full spectrum of room experience while on those cruises (from balcony, to ocean view, to normal interior, to the bigger handicap interior) so I just wanted to give you guys a little side by side.
I know this channel has talked A LOT about Carnival in the past, so maybe the point of this comment is moot. But I thought I’d do it anyway. I hope it helps someone!☺️
Also, sorry this was so long😬😳😅

There are interior cabins on NCL (including Getaway), they are just not cover in this video. The studios are not the interior class cabins and are an option offered to solo travelers only.

Me being a single traveler ( or at least as of right now single ), a studio cabin looks perfect for me...
Jason knows I'd use that cabin only for sleeping and "relations", if you know what I'm saying...

You need to request them from your room steward. Same on all ships and most people don't know that hotels have them too. 😊

    • @EECCTravels
      @EECCTravels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

You have to look at the deck plans and see which cabins have the indentation next to the balcony. Or you can get a travel agent to help you with this. I would be happy to help, my email is alisa@eecctravels.com
