    One of the best educational session I have come across in TH-cam (or for that matter internet) for free. Thank you Marco and for the organiser who uploaded it!

    Hi,
    Thanks a bunch for hosting (and sharing) this wonderful and very informative presentation.
    I have a query/suggestion though, @ 16:43, rather than using the sales order date as lower limit for the date table is it not safer to use the lowest of the (Sales and Purchase) dates as the lower limit and likewise for the max limit...using sales order date to baseline the table will exclude purchases made before the 1st Sale date. This will introduce errors at a later stage if we are trying to arrive at measures like cost of goods sold using the sale and the purchase tables

    At 48m16s TOTALYTD is discussed. It shows that there is a year end argument that can be specified for Year End. Should there not also be a year start argument you can specify? This would make custom Financial Years a lot easier.

    Great, very good explanation. Thank you very much, Marco Russo. I am thinking if I'd have to filter a KPI by two different dates within the same table. For instance, I'd like the Time Spent where Date.DateCreated = Today() + 7, which is the best time intelligence function(s) to approach that problem? Thanks!

    Am not so experienced in DAX and have the following requirement:
    It should be represented as follows on each date of sales ...
    ... YTD + MTD + the same for the previous year + deviation - all no problem ...
    BUT it should also be shown in addition to the selected date the entire previous year ...
    Is this possible with DAX?
    So you choose for example 15.03.2018 and then the following columns should be calculated:
    from 01.01.2018 to 15.03.2018 -> OK
    from 01.03.2018 to 15.03.2018 -> OK
    from 01.01.2017 to 15.03.2017 -> OK
    Deviation year to last year -> OK
    from 01.01.2017 to 31.12.2017 -> ???
    I thank you in advance.

    If while learning DAX you haven't laughed harder in frustration of using it, you're not doing it right.
