I hope the Saints bring back Shaq Davis who was cut by the Eagles and I would like to see a segment on how injury settlements work when teams release players off IR.
The easy answer is to use either Lattimore or AK as trade bait for a quality OT. Throw in Penning and get a draft pick back in the deal. Its obvious they are not willing to develop him as a guard, so package him in the trade as well.
I'm glad they extended Werner, they've lost talent before. Alex Anzalone to the Lions, Trey Hendrickson to the Bengals, GJGJ to the Eagles. Let's fix that salary cap so we can keep some of those guys like Teron Armstead. Penning was a project to begin with. Sometimes you find UDFAs like Marcus Colston, Sheed, or Tipton but sometimes you draft a guy in the first round and it doesn't work out.
Penning could have possibly worked as a guard, but he’s hopeless as a pass protecting tackle, can’t believe the saints were dumb enough to not try him at guard instead of moving him to the opposite tackle position, I knew it would fail when they first announced it
It says something that they still haven't made that move by now. Either they truly thought a change to RT would work, or he isn't interested in moving inside. Or I suppose it could even be DA still trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Either way I would have packaged him in a trade with Latt or AK for An experienced quality OT starter and moved on.
Too bad for Penning that the NFL doesn't have a developmental league. As it stands, it doesn't appear that he will have a very long career.I hope he had a good major on which he could fall back
All those dudes you thinking bout got concrete feet. Ross I'm hopefully but we need to get a veteran tackle because Penning is a 100% bust no ifs about it. Dennis looking for a tackle right now.
@@michaellyons418 Insanity, traded all the up the board for a WR then drafted a developmental OT later in the first. And I like Olave but it’s real iffy judgement
Penning obviously struggles in obvious passing downs so why not help him or take him off the field in certain situations like come back drives down by 7 with 40 seconds? I'm hoping we are not in those situations and his run blocking when up by 7 with 40 seconds left and AK ges that much needed first behind him.
I really like Jake, it’s great when things go smoothly. But, I got to give more credit to Rattler- I’m more impressed with, Can’t Rattle Rattler! So much harder when 💩 goes sideways and a guy stays cool and pulls it off.
Nah he’s not, Haener is a backup that’s all he’ll ever be, he was an average qb in college and he’s an average backup now. Rattler can start in a year or two he has the IT factor and was actually a GOOD QB in college.
I really think people will say anything because they want "their guy" to play. In Rattler's last 3 seasons in college, he had 7,695 yards, 48 touchdowns, and 25 interceptions. Haener had 9,013 yards, 67 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions. That's through 34 games for Rattler and 29 games for Haener. Now I understand they were in different conferences, but I'm looking for the evidence supporting the average versus GOOD QB comment. Rattler was benched for Tanner Mordecai before he was ever benched for Caleb Williams. The student section was chanting "we want Caleb" midgame against West Virginia the following year. When he's good, he's fun to watch. When he's bad, well, he makes some bad decisions with the ball. At this level, that won't be tolerated long. 🤷🏿♂️
@marcgranger4786 I said that in my reply. Yet Rattler's numbers were just 🤷🏿♂️ and he was benched twice. I really don't care which guy is back up to be honest. As long as they can come in when needed and do better than Winston last year. Hopefully it doesn't come to that and we can continue to develop those guys.
@@dl9232 your right about everything you said I admittedly didn’t know Haeners numbers were that good even for a small division but Rattler has the higher upside/ceiling IMO. But I agree idc which one honestly.
Man I've been telling you all that since the draft the offensive line is still trash I don't know where you guys keep thinking the same is going to go to the playoffs in the old line is trash
For what it’s worth.. our offensive line is probably going up against a top 5 defensive line every day at practice
Why hasn’t Penning been given a chance at guard? It’s pretty clear at this point he doesn’t have the stuff to be a tackle.
The O line is my only concern this year. Ryan or no Ryan

Please‼️
Yes!!
I hope so too
🎉 THEY DID!!! 🎉
Wish rayn wasn't hurt
26:05 I’ve still got Lionel Ritchie in my head! ALL CAMP LONG! All camp…
Penning struggles?!? No way my guy, he's just big, nasty, quick and strong for no good reason, is all.
"Josh Hill days" , I miss the Hoby Brenner days 😆
O line might still be terrible. Stop forcing Trevor Penning in there. He's a backup. Prove me wrong.🤔
he proving u right every day, waste of such a big dude

So who replaces him?
@@thomasthompson3861 I forget his name but we have a veteran we can plug in 🔌

Ross what’s going on with Alvin kamera contract extension?

Get a good OT from the Canadian league and let Penning go. Smh he sad and they know it. Come on man. You’re only as good as your weakest link 🔗

Saints may need to borrow the protection Coach Payton used when Bushrod was a young OT

Discouraging news about Penning. 🤦🏾♂️
Ok so Penning is disappointing again and DA says maybe not sure on him starting but who else? Trading bad for worse. Don't see any easy fix here.
I feel bad for our QBs our Oline is trash

He was definitely falling off because of what happened earlier in the day. That's not good.
Is Penning is another wasted High Draft Pick ! Can you say Bust ? He could very well be !
Nacua boys are different, cant coach effort
Penning is starting to remind me of Private Pyle. 🇺🇸
When are we going to acknowledge that Trevor is not a good football player
We have lol who hasn't?

Im sorry but carr gonna get hurt again this yr were looking at another mediocre team
