I don't put this on Rattler. Look at the dynamic and efficient play calling by Green Bay. In the first half, almost every play called on their offense was significantly new and innovative. The saints kept doing the same thing and expecting different results. I will comfortably say that Jordan Love would have failed miserably if he was in Rattlers shoes with this level of abysmal and one dimensional play calling. Brutal!

@@will3pr there really isn't a legal enforcement mechanism once ownership transfers. The only way I've seen it done is GB where shareholders (local) would never move the team. I think a lawyer can make it contractually unwise delaying a move by inserting payment stipulations as the team is paid for in installments or a new superdome lease is signed for a decade or so , but it won't prevent a move legally if the new owner doesn't care about paying his way out of those provisions.

Rattler got Sheed and Olave just 16 yards on 8 targets against Tampa. Got just 8 points when Olave went off against LA. The receivers aren't why dude is bad anyways. His throws don't hit the target often. Man's only seen 8 drops in 5 games when the offense even with sheed and them dropped 21 in 10 for Carr. Meanwhile he's missing 15% of his throws and throwing not even 58% of them on target Rattler just sucks my guy

The harsh reality is that this team has been a mess since Payton & Brees left and was never in a good place. Playing with a revolving door of QBs, incompetent coaching from Allen, and Rizzi has fizzled. Who would want to be hired to deal with such a daunting task of playing an overpaid QB that sucks and the hell with the stats, an aging defense, an injured riddle offense, a GM that's stuck in the early 2000s, and a franchise that can't let go of the past? Gee, 2009 was a long time ago, get over it, and the true last shot of that apple was when the "no-call game" ended the Saints relevance as a team. The Saints want a premium head coach, but selling Carr to a coaching candidate and paying for that coach will be costly. Additionally, will the team sign mid to low-tier free agents and focus on the draft due to veteran departures in the next couple of years? Probably, but if the Saints go with Aaron Glenn or keep Rizzi, they’ll continue the same strategy as before with the usual offseason routine. A significant overhaul would be beneficial, but it seems we'll get more of the same with Loomis remaining as GM. Unless Gayle Benson wakes up one morning and decides to clean house, that would be the only way for a major overhaul, and she may have to do the same for the Pelicans as well.

We all somehow thought the problem would get significantly better after DA was fired but in truth the problems are more deeply rooted i.e Mikey Loomis.. My advise for the rebuilding phase apart from parting ways with Loomis is to PLEASE find a way to stop drafting injury prone players and also reevaluate and make changes to the medical staff. I love Rizzi but we need to hire a new coach externally to further spark and overhaul!!

The overhaul we need is the team on the off season needs to go on a full scale Physical Rehabilitation regimen. Teaching them how to protect themselves from injuries and build their physical hardness to stand up to any team in the league Physically!

Been saying for the last few years that they need to reset everything. Age is catching up along with those injuries. DA was an issue, but now it shows that Loomis’s decisions is the bigger problem. We have to hit the full on rebuild and just tank for a few years. They got flat out embarrassed. Injuries don’t even matter anymore. Loomis, Derek Carr, Rizzi, Woods, Juaann Johnson, Kendre Miller, most of the OLine, KoolAid ( bust ), Werner,Matheau , all need to go. Trade the players, cut the coaches. I’m not so sure about Kubiak. He wasn’t really given much.
True... but I wouldnt include Kendre or Koolaid on this. They are still young and need to be retained. Saints need to get coaches that can develop and coach young players or else its just a revolving door. They are both on rookie contracts too, need both players.
The sooner they can let Loomis go the better the candidates they’ll be able to choose from. It’s complicated because he’s also helping out with the Pelicans and they’re in-season but it’s not like he’s killing it over there either.
The lack of depth is alarming and add to it that they have missed on important early round draft picks. It makes for a very difficult situation to overcome in just one off season. If you look at the depth chart there are almost no backups who were even on the team last year let alone young players who we can develop. We essentially will have to redraft positions that we’ve missed on plus try to find players to improve depth for now and the future. The post Sean Payton era is finally making its presence felt in terms of the lack of attention to detail

Please ! What did everyone expect. The Packers are a Super Bowl caliber team, with a very good coaching staff. The Saints have second and third string players on the field. If the Saints had all their starters on the field, they may have put some points on the board, but it still would have been a lost. Once again, the Drew Brees, Sean Payton era is over ! Making Dennis Allen head coach and spending $150 million on Derek Car to replace Drew Brees was crazy. We could have gotten Baker Mayfield for $10 million. With that being said, it's time for the Saints to rebuild. We will lose games in the process, but we will know where we're headed. With a good head coach and the talent we have now, it should take us about 2 seasons to be highly competitive, with the realization of making it back to the playoffs. Just Keeping It Real, Fans.

I only follow this team casually, so take that as a semi-outside view. The biggest mistake was not getting a vet, having essentially 2 rookie backup QBs is a huge mistake. Then add in other injuries its a total recipe for disaster. Not sure you can even evaluate anyone based on a game with QB1, RB1, WR1-3 hurt vs a good playoff hungry team. Although i agree Loomis is probably your biggest problem atm.
Saints also need to invest in new providers of preventative training, performance training, and recovery training. The injuries and recovery slowness has been debilitating.

Interesting how Saints have steadily declined since Payton left and how he has helped turn the Broncos into a playoff team almost immediately. Looks like Loomis is in over his head as GM and particularly a talent evaluator. Either have Loomis just negotiate contracts without spending future years' money and don't allow him to select players, or send him packing. Either way, the Saints need a GM who can select talent and a head coach who has what it takes to win consistently. Otherwise we'll be seeing more of the same as this year.

What the Saints need to do in my opinion in no particular order. but I would say #1 medical staff education. eliminate the injuries. 2) O-Line and D-line. you can not accurately get the feel of what any QB can do. When he does not have the time. 3) Coaching staff. why not give Jon Gruden a look at HC. 4) please and please get rid of Mickey Loomis!!!!!!!!!!! 5) no more restructuring of contracts. 7) no more kicking the can down the road.

What Loomis calls an "overhaul" is not what you would call an overhaul...there will be a new coaching staff (good riddance to Woods and Kubiak)...Carr will still be QB1...there really isn't a strong core group of young players to build around (unless you want to count guys like Kool-Aid and Miller as "building blocks"...lol) and some of the veteran contracts will not allow a complete cleaning of the house - so we're stuck with some of these old guys. I really can't see any coach with common sense stepping into this hell hole.
how it took to THIS game for some of you I don't get. i despise 'homers' fellating the team's jock despite the embarrassing product on the field. they've been cooked for weeks. luckily not many decisions were made with the idiotic notion that we were still in a playoff hunt. however, with the dearth of awful teams, we somehow have a better record than enough of them to put us out of the top tier players in the draft this year. repeat: best player available throughout the whole thing. the Rx from now is to give players who will still be on the team reps. search for a new HC and GM. DO NOT extend expiring contracts and take all the lumps for 2025. in 2026 go after a franchise QB, a much better year for the position. the pick position should be high enough if we quit trying to band-aid the problem.
Carr is good enough to win with. He’s the only NFL quarterback on the team. Ridiculous judgment call to go into the season without an adequate backup QB. Rattler and Haener need to go. Rattler has no brain and can’t put touch on a ball to save his life. He’s just another lousy 5th round QB.

The harsh reality is that this team has been a mess since Payton & Brees left and was never in a good place. Playing with a revolving door of QBs, incompetent coaching from Allen, and Rizzi has fizzled. Who would want to be hired to deal with such a daunting task of playing an overpaid QB that sucks and the hell with the stats, an aging defense, an injured riddle offense, a GM that's stuck in the early 2000s, and a franchise that can't let go of the past? Gee, 2009 was a long time ago, get over it, and the true last shot of that apple was when the "no-call game" ended the Saints relevance as a team. The Saints want a premium head coach, but selling Carr to a coaching candidate and paying for that coach will be costly.
Additionally, will the team sign mid to low-tier free agents and focus on the draft due to veteran departures in the next couple of years? Probably, but if the Saints go with Aaron Glenn or keep Rizzi, they’ll continue the same strategy as before with the usual offseason routine. A significant overhaul would be beneficial, but it seems we'll get more of the same with Loomis remaining as GM. Unless Gayle Benson wakes up one morning and decides to clean house, that would be the only way for a major overhaul, and she may have to do the same for the Pelicans as well.

We all somehow thought the problem would get significantly better after DA was fired but in truth the problems are more deeply rooted i.e Mikey Loomis.. My advise for the rebuilding phase apart from parting ways with Loomis is to PLEASE find a way to stop drafting injury prone players and also reevaluate and make changes to the medical staff. I love Rizzi but we need to hire a new coach externally to further spark and overhaul!!

Loomis, Derek Carr, Rizzi, Woods, Juaann Johnson, Kendre Miller, most of the OLine, KoolAid ( bust ), Werner,Matheau , all need to go. Trade the players, cut the coaches.

True... but I wouldnt include Kendre or Koolaid on this. They are still young and need to be retained. Saints need to get coaches that can develop and coach young players or else its just a revolving door. They are both on rookie contracts too, need both players.
The sooner they can let Loomis go the better the candidates they’ll be able to choose from. It’s complicated because he’s also helping out with the Pelicans and they’re in-season but it’s not like he’s killing it over there either.
The lack of depth is alarming and add to it that they have missed on important early round draft picks. It makes for a very difficult situation to overcome in just one off season. If you look at the depth chart there are almost no backups who were even on the team last year let alone young players who we can develop. We essentially will have to redraft positions that we’ve missed on plus try to find players to improve depth for now and the future. The post Sean Payton era is finally making its presence felt in terms of the lack of attention to detail

If the Saints had all their starters on the field, they may have put some points on the board, but it still would have been a lost. Once again, the Drew Brees, Sean Payton era is over ! Making Dennis Allen head coach and spending $150 million on Derek Car to replace Drew Brees was crazy. We could have gotten Baker Mayfield for $10 million. With that being said, it's time for the Saints to rebuild. We will lose games in the process, but we will know where we're headed. With a good head coach and the talent we have now, it should take us about 2 seasons to be highly competitive, with the realization of making it back to the playoffs. Just Keeping It Real, Fans.

I only follow this team casually, so take that as a semi-outside view. The biggest mistake was not getting a vet, having essentially 2 rookie backup QBs is a huge mistake. Then add in other injuries its a total recipe for disaster. Not sure you can even evaluate anyone based on a game with QB1, RB1, WR1-3 hurt vs a good playoff hungry team. Although i agree Loomis is probably your biggest problem atm.

Saints also need to invest in new providers of preventative training, performance training, and recovery training. The injuries and recovery slowness has been debilitating.

Interesting how Saints have steadily declined since Payton left and how he has helped turn the Broncos into a playoff team almost immediately. Looks like Loomis is in over his head as GM and particularly a talent evaluator. Either have Loomis just negotiate contracts without spending future years' money and don't allow him to select players, or send him packing. Either way, the Saints need a GM who can select talent and a head coach who has what it takes to win consistently. Otherwise we'll be seeing more of the same as this year.

What the Saints need to do in my opinion in no particular order. but I would say #1 medical staff education. eliminate the injuries. 2) O-Line and D-line. you can not accurately get the feel of what any QB can do. What Loomis calls an "overhaul" is not what you would call an overhaul...there will be a new coaching staff (good riddance to Woods and Kubiak)...Carr will still be QB1...there really isn't a strong core group of young players to build around (unless you want to count guys like Kool-Aid and Miller as "building blocks"...lol) and some of the veteran contracts will not allow a complete cleaning of the house - so we're stuck with some of these old guys. I really can't see any coach with common sense stepping into this hell hole.

how it took to THIS game for some of you I don't get. i despise 'homers' fellating the team's jock despite the embarrassing product on the field. they've been cooked for weeks. luckily not many decisions were made with the idiotic notion that we were still in a playoff hunt. however, with the dearth of awful teams, we somehow have a better record than enough of them to put us out of the top tier players in the draft this year. repeat: best player available throughout the whole thing.
the Rx from now is to give players who will still be on the team reps. search for a new HC and GM. DO NOT extend expiring contracts and take all the lumps for 2025. in 2026 go after a franchise QB, a much better year for the position. the pick position should be high enough if we quit trying to band-aid the problem.
