What an awesome episode! True story, I was the personal lines underwriter for your family's personal insurance policy about 10yrs ago. Good to see how far you've come.
really nice video. It's so cool to still see your dad get that excited after all the bass and years of fishing. He's always been one of my favorites to watch. OH Son!
I've had the chance to meet Roland a few times. Until now I didn't know he was your father. I'm a huge fan, and the fact that I personally know your father blows my mind. Thanks Scott for all that you do.
I love father and son fishing! This is great. I identify with this because my dad fishes with me in my Skeeter, and I fish in his Champ. Best fishing of my life is with my father. Hands down. Love the video.
I've always enjoyed watching your dad over the years. I have learned a lot from his tips and techniques. Awesome that you two have such a great father / son relationship.
Man they where smashing those River 2 Sea Biggies! I still use those up here in Michigan! Your Dad is the man, I have been watching him since the 80's when I was a little guy! Keep on keeping on Scott!
Great video! Up here in Washington State, our spring season is just beginning. This video has me stoked....Well, okay, I'm already stoked, but thanks for the entertainment!
Haha that's hilarious. Nothing here! Don't bother coming back! I love your shows man. I was at the Big O 2 weeks ago and we smacked it up 49 in the boat. Beautiful lake. Great fishing.
Scott I been watching you and your pops for years and I've enjoyed every episode! You guys definitely inspire me to fish and I too share the same love for the sport! Keep up the great fishing
Awesome vid Mr. Martin!! I look forward to these shows every time you add one! Also like seeing ya in passing around the big O! Can't wait to get out there again - just competed in the FLW College tournament on Lake Seminole tough day out there. Gave me so much more respect for how good you guys really are all that pressure and ya still bring in 20+ lbs consistently.
Great episode! Still trying to land a real job in fishing after graduating college. A college degree isn't worth what it use to be. Keep putting out great stuff Scott!
I live up in vero beach so I have some real great places to fish like the stick marsh and Garcia reservoir. And Fwc built a new lake next door too stick marsh too. But nothing is like the big O....
The little lake I fish has plenty of dense grass with the occasional pockets. I finesse fish a fat albert or fluke and when over the pocket dead stick it. The bite is subtle so watch your line. If you fish light like I do check your knots often (especially on flouro) and take off any line with abrasions. Otherwise you could also slow retrieve on the grass line, and drag your bait slowly over the deeper grass you can pick up staging females around the spawn. Also works early on those warmer days.
Fun video, and very informative, I was hoping you could clue us in to the swimbait setup you guys were using, rod, line, and rigging. Thx much for the video!!
Love seeing the lake I grew up trotling catfish n turtles down there such an awsome place to live n fish oh caught plenty of big bass down there to my dads from pahokee so we catch those big bass out off the cain filds
Hey Scott, I've recently starting fishing Okeechobee and I live 50 miles east of the lake in West Palm. I've talked to a few people and everyone says to fish the north end of the lake.. I've heard horror stories of people tearing motors up out there do to the bottom and lake levels.. Any spots in the south you would recommend seeing as I don't know the lake that well.. thanks.
I'm from Europe so I don't know much about Bass fishing, but why do you want to 'shake off' a fish? Doesn't every catch count? Really like these vids man!
Do you ever fish Idaho there's a TON of 0-3 pounder quite a few 3-5 pounder's and some VERY hard to catch 5-12 pounders but, some lake there FULL of 5-10 pounders.
that was funny when he says No fish here . hahaha. I was fishing for crappie today and I hook a nice slab and a guy drives his truck up to us and says you catching any . I say not much around today ,while the crappie on the end of my pole is pulling . I was on a bridge and the crappie finally came off after 5 minutes of mr gabby hehehe. Sometimes you have to fake it to keep the crowd away hehehe.
lol... I'm gonna shake him off, just like you do....... WHACK! Roland is like the Al Pacino of bassing. Great to see father, son time when both are having fun!
It's awesome how Roland Martin is such a legend but he still has the enthusiasm of a guy who's just discovered bass fishing.
I love how excited Roland still gets over a big bass. The man has caught thousands and he still acts like it's his first time. That's awesome.
What an awesome episode! True story, I was the personal lines underwriter for your family's personal insurance policy about 10yrs ago. Good to see how far you've come.
I love the excitement your dad still has!! I grew up watching him when I was younger. Nothing like two Icons in the same boat fishing together.
Two class acts and exceptional pros in the boat. This is premium entertainment along with the valuable teaching.
really nice video. It's so cool to still see your dad get that excited after all the bass and years of fishing. He's always been one of my favorites to watch. OH Son!

I would've have loved to have that kind of relationship with my dad. But it's ok, I have it with my Father. Bless you both for the example you set.
I can remember your pops on one of his shows back in the early 90s or late 80s and he was wading in all that stuff catching monsters.
I live up in vero beach so I have some real great places to fish like the stick marsh and Garcia reservoir. And Fwc built a new lake next door too stick marsh too. But nothing is like the big O....
as always great video. cant wait for ice out on our waters
