Just bought an Etrac to compliment my CTX3030. This video has showed me some good stuff, brilliant. As well as customising what you want to find, of course still going to get some junky items and lose alot of depth, about 5 or 6 inches (air test) as set up for finding high value coins and rings, you can also use the combine feature and add that on to your pattern, for example add jewellery to it, gives you a bit more depth as you progress through with less discrimination being used.
Yes spot on. I did that video after a customer was asking how to quickly set up a pattern just to find $1 and $2 coins. After a big outdoor event, you are just chasing shallow recent drops, so a very tight disc pattern works very well.

Many new machines have come since the Etrac. CTX3030 has a faster processor, and is better balanced, colour screen, GPS etc. Equinox is lighter, has single frequency options and the Multi Frequency weighting is better for low conductors. But if you are looking at depth on coins, and ID at depth, the E-Trac is still very much up there performance wise. The black and white display is also nice and vivid. But two main reasons I use a CTX3030 in preference to the E-Trac these days is: 1. Combined Audio option. 2. Waterproof. Love just being able to hose off the 3030 after a beach hunt.

very interesting,with so many machines on the market do you still consider the E-trac as a worth while investment.
The Etrac seems awesome and I've not even been out with it yet due to Covid 19.
