Dr. Phil has the common sense and the knowledge of a genius - just because you can pick a battle doesn't mean you have to. My thought is what's the benefit of the battle - is it worth your time and effort... or is it better to just walk away. Ego gets a lot of people in trouble. Watch |Dr. Phil in a debate or disagreement - he doesn't get trapped into an arguement or battle - he is the epitome of calm and cool.

wow... you said a lot... something that came to mind.. i was talking to this person about being around angry people and he said that when he is driving on a freeway and he is surrounded by angry drivers he will pull off the freeway and then pull back on.. let them go..

perhaps I might point out - there is a difference between "a battle I'm not absolutely sure I'm going to win" and "a battle I'm not sure I can win" and "a battle I know I'm going to lose." Might be worth making the distinction there - as I noticed they changed during the discourse.... I might be more inclined to fight the first - whereas it's very advisable to avoid the last....

I will say this from experience, you cannot win with a covert narcissist. If you strike with a strategic confrontation on your turf and your terms, you may win the battle, but they will recoil and come back at you twice as hard when you least expect it.
Their goal is to always pull others down to build themselves up. And there in lies the narcissism. The least common denominator at its root.

I hope your next venture is what you’ve been avoiding for so very long. We need your voice added to the current essential “ battle”. I’m sure you have noticed there are very few people stepping up as you say, when you’ve looked around on this subject. And I don’t think I even need to tell you what the subject is. I think I have heard hints of you wanting to address it in previous interviews and I look forward to that if that is your intent.
