Avm90 is the sweet spot. Unless you have a particularly big Theater, a regular high-end processor will be imperceptibly the same compared to a trinnov imo. But you have to be honest if you could afford this, you would buy it. Lol so a total respect for this product and its engineers.

It would be really great if A/V companies stopped charging more for processors than receivers.
Makes zero sense and for some reason no one calls this out.

You talk about "Spatial audio" - what do you mean by that phrase?

Would be great if they would make an entry level processor. 11channels 7.2.4. I think if this would be around 5-7k then they have a killer proposition with their software. I am now searching for an datasat rs20i of ls10 second hand.

17 years ago it cost me $ 120000 to get a home theatre. I have done a few upgrades over the years. But it's over expensive. I just run a 5.1 system with Epson projector..

Software is not free. The Engg time spent on writing code, testing and release takes resources. I wish the pricing model would change to reflect this. Rather than upfront high cost, pls look to charge for updates after a certain period (eg - 5 yrs). Otherwise the product remains too expensive.

Why 32 channels? And after I heard and saw this podcast I come up to a conclusions that waveforming and Dirac art are all snake oil just like 32 channel is...from component video to hdmi??? This is comic con. But wait wait having the d215s sub which is phenomenal you still have to treat the room so say it as it is, treat the room and get a decent pre pro no need to sell your kidney to get a processor which anyway without good room acoustics will still sound mediocre as no matter what waveforming will ever do you cannot get a bad room to sound good with or without trinnov. Good marketing though...even if a friend of mine has trinnov and who calibrated his system (came from trinnov) never suggested that he upgrades room acoustics. Strange.

Maybe I’m just an optimist, but man that Murphy’s law comment really threw me. I don’t know if I can trust the opinions of someone who believes in Murphy’s law.
Like the commentary on how DSP chips are inherently mass market products, and they’re not made by audio guys; is that connected to reality at all? Or just a pessimistic projection?
It’s fine if a person thinks differently from you, but inevitably the conversation turns to discussions of reality, and it’s rude to make assertions of reality when it’s inherently subjective. The last thing we want is to be brow beat by another person’s bias as they assert a truth which is where things cross the line.
We can’t ask someone to change how they think, but you can ask that they express their ideas as their ideas, instead of as the truth. “I think….” “I believe…” “from my perspective….” “I feel….”
Which is so important, because the conversation can continue, instead of stopping to argue the basis of reality.
It’s not what reality is, it’s what you think reality is. As a client, if we can’t openly discuss the room from this open dynamic, I don’t feel we’ll be getting to the best outcomes or communicating in a way in which I feel all options were appropriately considered with an open mind.
