Thanks for the pleasant tour of Marikina. Looks a lot less hectic than other areas of Metro Manila for sure!

Notice there's no unsightly trash out in the sidewalks? Residents are used to segregating their trash, and can only bring them out during trash collection day for immediate, well, collection by garbage people. I remember Marikina had recyclables garbage truck, then the non-recyclables or wet trash garbage trucks. I forget if recyclable and non-recyclables were collected on the same day. For small trash like candy wrappers, residents put the wrappers in their packets and threw them in their garbage at home, or in public trash cans. I heard on Twitter if you smoked and threw your cigarette butt out on the street you got fined P500.
Also did you see dogs roaming around? None. Dogs were required to be leashed or not be able to get out their owner's properties. Municipal animal control people drive around ready to catch unleashed pets.

Marikina is so goddamn clean. Kulang nalang ibaon sa lupa yung mga kable ng kuryente. Sarap tignan pag walang mga sidewalk vendor na pakalat kalat sa kalye.

I would have to agree Marikina is soooo clean! Hats off to the city government!
    Observations:
    1. The absence of vendors, except for that one towards the end of the clip😊
    2. Considering the presence of trees on the side of the roads, no fallen leaves could be seen!
    3. Downtown San Francisco in California has alternating one way streets and they do help ease traffic.
    3. The absence of traffic lights or STOP signs in road crossings are noticeable (for safety)
    About your driving:
    1. I counted 5 times where you stopped for pedestrians! Hats of to you sir!
    2. The way you slow down
As you approach cross traffic is a sign of a good driver
Based on your driving it seems like you learned to drive abroad, maybe in the US?
What I’m trying to say is
👍👍👍👍👍for Marikina and your driving skills!

Thanks for the compliment. I learned driving here in Philippines. I have high respect on pedestrian because people using it are doing the right thing and as a driver we must also do the same.
With regards to Marikina LGU, I really admired their dedication in eradicating sidewalk vendors and making their City the most organize and safe place to walk and less traffic that minimize the cause of road rage. MARIKINA LGU IS ONE OF THE BEST.

@@kingkongs5601 Spaghetti wires is a national concern and not LGU mandate. The transition from overhead to underground wires will have a great impact both economics and everyday life of the residents and the business around it. As the video said Marikina is clean and also progressive. It should be a role model to all the LGU in the entire country.

@@thewalk101 LAKAS Maka third world po ng spaghetti wires no matter how clean ung mga daan😂. The online thing they shouldn't have implemented is to have one-way traffic on 2-lane streets allowing cars to be parked on the street which isn't ideal.

THanks to Bayani Fernando. other MM cities are so dirty when you get out of the CBDs and malls because the leadership is bad.
