I’ve got 4x 80series Landcruisers (2x 12Valve 4.2L diesels and 2x 24Valve 4.2Ldiesels) and 2x 110 defenders, both 2.4tdci pumas....my dream is to fit a 4.2L Toyota diesel into at least one....what conversion bits are needed and is the Toyota auto gearbox the one to use or am I better with a manual? One of the 12Valve cruisers is a ‘parts’ car, auto....2 owners including me....110k miles, never washed....bodily quite sad/bad but mechanically fairly good (full lockers).... one of the 24 valves is a manual with 65k from new and is almost concours...the other 24 valve is an auto/ Japanese import, so good engine, has an mot and Ive owned/driven it for over 20 years.. the other 12 valve is a manual import with a 10 inch body/chassis lift and a 10 inch suspension lift...it’s currently on 38s but I’ve also got a set of 44s.....the 38s are a bit more road-able!....the 44s are snow/mud pluggers and have a tractor-like tread pattern....2 sets of rims..any ideas?
