I've knit the Ranunculus 7 times! They all look different. Some with short sleeves, some long. Some I used the lace pattern, some I used only part of the lace pattern. Different yarns, different weights of yarn. I love this pattern, and I look for podcasts that have knit it so I can see what they did with it. Yours turned out beautiful. There is just something perfect about a hand knit sweater. It's always a one of a kind and the color and pattern and shape are all different for each knitter. What a great way to use beautiful wood. The earing's are lovely.
Love your comment🤎thank you for taking the time to write it. I 100% agree, every piece is unique and I'll definitely knit more Ranunculus in the future 🤎
You could also make some stitch markers out of the wood, it'd look really good and there's no need to make them similar. I love the fact that you're always making different stuff :)
I'm definitely enjoying the sensuality of knitting a simple but beautiful Sun Glitter Shawl shawl with some hand dyed angora yarn. Love your bright orange 🍊 sweater sooo much. Lol I also feel your frustrations with a pattern ( don't know this one but in general) 💜 🌺 Trust that kindness will win... Just lovely 🌹
I made the leaf top as my very first knit (aside from two dishcloths) I don't remember it being confusing but that was two years ago. It's worth it once you figure it out 🙂 I didn't know any different when I purchased the pattern but now I have seen patterns written out completely differently I can see why you don't like the way it's written. I just love the stitch so much. I've knitted several of her patterns now
I love the stitch too but it seems there are mistakes and she didn't bother to edit it and change it so I'm not a fan. But I sent her an email so we'll see if I'm completely wrong🌱🤎
@@wegrowild I want to say this politely because I mean it so, but I don't believe there are mistakes because I have made the pattern and several friends so I think Melanie will be able to help you figure it out no problem 🙂 I have faith in you 💪🤗
Hello Martina 🤗 nice to watching your podcast again.I really like what you creating, such a beautiful thing. You are very talented girl.I wish you all the Best Greeting from Scotland.
Ciao Martina, I really enjoyed the slow, grounded pace of this podcast, and the reminder to be kind, I really need to hear that. The dog is so sweet and beautiful, a new friend? I love the way you slow down and are present with the knitting and not only that, and yes sensuality is a Way to be present, in our bodies, in the moment, on our experience. the earrings are lovely, I really love the colour and vein of the wood. Take care 💚
@@wegrowild 🌷 I forgot to write, about the tricky pattern, that, as you said you can contact the designer of course, and also, something you already surely know that a lot of times on Ravelry if you look at other knitter's projects, they may have written about the difficulties you are encountering, if it's a famous pattern there may be groups and finally you could reach out to someone on ravelry asking help with the pattern?
Hello to you from California. I am so loving everything you are making from your beautiful sweaters, to your lovely earrings. I also love the colors of your yarns. You have given me a calming and lovely sunday morning moment. Thank you.
I agree with your sensual knitting concept. The feeling knitting gives me, the feeling of the yarn gives such a peaceful calm (as long as the pattern is working LOL😂) the sense of touch is powerful and being present in the knit moment is what helps me through my days. Currently I’m doing a sweater in baby alpaca plus mohair strand I touch it more than I knit 🥰😆
Thanks so so much for this amazing podcast! Your work is so inspiring! And the choice of colors literally mind blowing! Looking forward for more videos!
I caved and bought some cotton yarn to join this knitalong and I am so happy with the fabric and drape of this fiber. I always thought that the cotton and linen yarns felt too harsh in their skiens to use for a garment but after only an hour or so of knitting with it I am a convert to plant based yarn. I am really looking forward to making many more garments in these fibers.
Hi Martina, your earrings are so beautiful. I too am making the Anker tee in linen/cotton yarn in sagebrush (soft green). I am really enjoying this pattern too. I just might enter it in your knit along. 🌺🌱🌼🐦
I’ve done tea staining on white cotton yarn and it was great. It makes a lovely, warm beige and no unpleasant smell. Thanks for another wonderful episode!!
Love your podcast I always love your choice of yarn and colours absolutely beautiful please make earrings love to buy Also thank you telling us about olive tree and the moon Have a lovely evening .
Just an idea on your dyeing...I've been experimenting in natural dyeing myself. For plant fibres I believe it's important to mordant the fabric first, so it takes on the color better! You can use DIY Alum Acetate or a bath of oak gall powder. I dyed some fabric with oak galls and it turned out a beautiful beige. ...And you can always over-dye the yellow yarn. I had dyed some Muslin with yellow lowers, which turned out too pale yellow for my liking. So I mordanted it again and put them in a strong onion bath..it turned out a rich ochre :)
just found your podcast and really enjoyed listening to you! The end topped it off! I LOVE your dog... English Cream Golden Retriever? I have two of my own! They're the best!
I’ve been battling with the Ranunculus pattern and once I understand it I make progress. I misread after the eyelets to knit more than one row of stockinette so now I have to rip out about 5 rows, go back and do it right. ☹️
Hey Stevie. I have been going crazy with the Ranunculus as well, and not I alone had this experience. Our knitting-circle host said the same thing. We both have been knitting for more than 46 years, so don`t feel bad about the experience. I just kept going and my Ranunculus turned out very different, but still wearable. I jokingly call it my Mutunculus, because it is kind of a mutant, lol. It is just a knit and it should be fun and bring joy in the end.
Very nice. Love the earrings. Regarding your leaf top .... have you looked on Raveley ..there are lots of finished versions on there. Some have notes which might help. Maybe you don't like ravelry.? I've found that if I contact someone about a finished object there they are usually super helpful. It's such a pretty top.
Would you also sell the olive wood shapes seperate? I LOVE them, but I can't wear earrings because I get an allergic reaction on everything earringwise.. but I would love to wear one on a necklace!!
Thank you for agreeing to do that because I have the same issue but would love to order shapes to make into clip earring s or a pendant. Awesome podcast❤️
Those earrings took great About the buttons..why do they have to the same round shape? I think it would be great to have irregular shapes. It might be harder to cut, however, but personally I love non-conforming, irregular shapes. Would you consider that idea?
@@wegrowild I am glad you think so. Different sizes, shapes. You can absolutely use up all the wood more economically. Make buttons that are sort of round but now really round. That would be fun!

Onion skins need a mordant and are best on wool. Try some stitch markers for the lace and see if that helps with the pattern
