In March I bought the 662 Alpha Scout Elite in MagnaCut and G10 with a kydex sheath, and I’ve been carrying it ever since. Phenomenal design and flawless execution, it’s a wonderful knife.
I picked up the Alpha Pro Hunter (larger) brother to this blade for my grandson's 13th birthday .. . who was going to be hunting with his father later this year. This version is a perfect bellied EDC knife. Glad you like it ( I luved the Hunter Pro while I had it in hand ... might get one for me). For those looking for a cheaper version of these blades, Buck released the Alpha Hunter and Alpha Scout in orange handles and 420HC steel for around $100 in 2024.
I don’t own too many fixed blade, but I did catch a special offer from Buck on their 119 model. Just like their folders, the fixed blade is solid and well made. Your alpha scout looks gorgeous!
Great little blade. I bought as a fixed blade EDC option and that may be where it really shines. Its diminutive size makes it very portable. In use it is an over-achiever. Surprisingly good at food prep. Buck's S35VN really takes and holds a great edge. I'm very tempted to try the larger variants. This series reminds me of the Western W84 and 83 models that I used for a good number of hunting seasons when the Loveless drop-point hunters were all the rage. Good knives. The Buck is better yet. The walnut looks good.
Great shape to the knife! Lovely sheath! I like the texture they milled into the wood. Makes the scales look like snake skin! I like the forward jimping.
Wow Slippy even the sheath is just gorgeous. How much trouble would someone be in if they were caught with it on them in public. Thanks for sharing Brother
Thanks for the excellent review. Quite a distilled knife design that I really like. I had planned a BRISA Skinner 90 in Elmax and a Helle Wabakimi in Sleipner then I discovered the Buck 662 in MagnaCut. Maybe I need to see a knife therapist? 🤔
buck got love them came out different blade steels to pick from they have always made good knifes even the working man can afford I don't think they get enough credit for this frist there designs are functional and solid for what for there intended for there 420 is fantastic easy to sharpen in the woods holds a egde just fine and if you want little more egde retention they got you looks like perfect edc then straight to the woods
Looks like it will be a great little camp knife ! Too pricey for me though lol. Only one thing though... I do wish manufacturers wouldn't put national flags on their products. It's purely personal, of course, but I think it makes them look .. well... Tacky.

I am just amazed at uk laws.. what is crime like there..assaults, muggings, breaking and entering.. just curious
Pretty much all the above, but only really in big cities, nothing where I am

Yeah I share that point of view as well! Saying it on the box is enough
