One of the most overlooked pipers of the time, in my opinion. He's got a number of really unique settings of tunes, he's generally "firing on all cylinders" (drones always, and regs going most of the time, providing mostly rhythmic, rather than harmonic accompaniment). He plays a great combination of tight and open on the chanter. I would say his style is out of fashion these days, but my goodness, there's no denying his talent. I'm still listening to his "Best of Joe & Antoinette McKenna" album (you can find on Spotify, I've transferred it from vinyl, to cassette, and now MP3 over the years).
