Fishing Anclote Power Plant with My Brother - Jacks & Mangrove Snapper

I took my brother out for an afternoon of fishing at Anclote Gulf Park, right at the power plant outflow. It was a pretty slow day of fishing, but we had fun with it. We fished both from shore and from kayaks as we caught some jack crevalle and mangrove snapper.

How do you decide which side of the power plant to fish? Never fished near a power plant. Is it based on the tides which way the warm water flows?

I'm gonna fish there once I go back to Florida! The only fish I've caught in this location are heardhead catfish, grunts, mangrove snapper, and an Atlantic spade fish. I gotta try using lures or live bait.

Try using a crazy jig tipped with some shrimp. I've caught a bunch of different species there on it: pompano, jacks, snapper, and sheepshead mostly

Pompano Jigs work really well for a lot of species of there, and you can never go wrong with live shrimp
