I told her Drag has become something i'm deeply invested in - not only watching, but I go to local LGBT+ demonstrations and petitions etc. and Gay Pride, been going to clubs since I was 17 (I would never go to straight bars and also im Pan) , she says that she is not against "it" (whatever "it" is lol), but that she's just not invested in Dragula and Drag race - the things i'm really passionate about.
It would be wonderful to have your mother sharing your enthusiasm for the gender affected ways we humans have embraced certain cultural identities and perpetually create new ones. But as individuals the word itself says it all, and she is entitled to hold onto what she feels is best in her mind just as much as you gravitate towards the lifestyles and things you find worth engaging in. I believe most people around my age (and plenty of the younger) have a strong desire to keep the simplicity of male/female and reject gender-bending tendencies, which actually make some extremely uncomfortable. Although your mother may not be interested, you can feel grateful that she is not appalled to the point of personal conflict or even restricting you from following the paths that interest and excite you. If my mom was alive today (I was 15 when she passed) she would take away the television to prevent my exposure, at the very least! Let Mom be Mom, live your own way and love her for who she is... mutual respect should always be preserved even if you (both) may have to work at it at times!
When I first watched Dragula I thought shit, this is so low budget but by the end I was so emotionally invested and blown away by the queens and the show had such a raw energy to it, it was really punk. Can't wait for season two and I hope they get some more sponsorship or investment because it was really special and deserves to be taken forward.

I wouldn't have known Foxie had anything to do with Dracula from the look. That is not steampunk just because there are some flying goggles. She acts so cocky and confident which is fine if you can back that up with your look. I fully sympathize with the loss of a family member but I would have expected the looks to have already been ready. I think she's suited to more trad drag.

One complaint. I saw a recent episode on Netflix. A contestant was kicked off for wearing club kid boots. You wouldn’t be anywhere if it wasn’t for the club kids. They are what brought RuPaul into the spotlight. So appreciate where your origins came from. I would rather see club kid boots than a beard. Period.....
