Nice bag. I've also done the same thing. Unfortunately, I've been hospitalized quite a few times in my life and have added the following to my bag. Hope this helps...
1.) While I do have a battery pack (actually two of them), during longer term stays they will need to be recharged. I carry a LONG 12 foot USB cable to stretch from your hospital bed to the wall. A 6 foot cable just doesn't cut it. You're going to want something much longer. I have an orange 12 foot cord from Anker. You can see this cord in the low light conditions in the hospital. I also have a small travel sized AC transformer that plugs in the wall. I also carry a small adapter set for the kong USB cable that will fit into most devices.
2.) Meal replacement bars. There's been times after surgery where meals were not properly registered with the kitchen staff and were not delivered after surgery. Which is a pain in the butt since you're not allowed to eat the night before surgery. It's happened twice to me so now I carry like protein bars and even tuna & chicken packets with me with a fork so I can eat it right out of the pouch. I also pack individual sized packs of iced tea mix to add to my ice water. A real morale booster.
3.) A bar of soap. The last couple of times in the hospital they had this god awful liquid body soap/shampoo that smelled like industrial cleaner and was just as greasy. A serious slip and fall hazard as well as nearly impossible to get off in the shower. A real hazard for those still weak from recovering. All that extra time in the shower rinsing the goop off. So make sure to pack your favorite soap.
4.) Garbage bag or large Zip Lock freezer bags. This one is for you dirty laundry. You don't want your bag to smell like dirty underwear and socks.

Way to go 😃👍 you not only have a hospital bag but a to go emergency 🦺 bag. I keep mine on the side of my couch for any purpose needed. Something I do is change it up every 6 months from winter to summer as to any clothes. Meds do expire so good idea to rotate them too
