SUPERMOTO WHEELS on a DIRT BIKE! [Supermoto Build Part 10]

- Welcome to my Supermoto Build Series! In this series, I will be showing you the entire process of making a dirt bike street legal and converting it to a supermoto. This is being done on my 2015 Honda CRF450R. I'll cover parts needed, requirements, a little bit of installation how-to, but most of all, having fun showing you the choices I make to build a super cool custom supermoto!
In this video (Part 10), I've got something you've all been waiting for, the main thing that makes this a supermoto build series: THE ACTUAL SUPERMOTO WHEELS! I picked up some awesome forged Marchesini supermoto wheels. Thanks to sponsor TAW Performance for getting me a great deal on these! Now, I had to be unique, so I teamed up with Enigma Coatings, my local powdercoating shop, to get the wheels coated in a super cool metallic red. You can see the behind the scenes video for that here: • Powdercoating a MOTORC... .
Aside from getting the wheels done and putting the wheels on, I also needed to round out some of the supermoto look! I got to work on making my own supermoto front fender out of the standard white CRF450R fender that I got from Acerbis, who provided the whole plastics kit for this bike. Although I didn't complete the fender in this video, it's taking shape and I love it!
Getting the rear wheel on was a bit difficult, but that was expected. I knew that I'd be cutting it close with a tire and wheel so wide (5" wheel and 160/60 tire). It DOES fit though! We test fit the chain, but without actually installing it, I won't know just how much chain rub there is. I've got some tricks up my sleeve to solve that, though. Front wheel went on without a hitch and looks KILLER with the supermoto brake kit from Moto-Master.
Enjoy the video/series or find it useful? Hit that like button, subscribe if you aren't already, and share it with your friends! It helps me and the channel out a lot :) Thanks!

ay fam nice vids
ps i love you.
i love your videos!!!
Sup babe
I love you all
Bike is coming together SO NIIICE
ZackGoes shut up zack
@@chrishansen8026 shut up kid.
OMG finish this! I'm coming down to hammer this together in 3 hours. I wanna go supermoto racing in Norman OK.
+Jake TheGardenSnake okay see you soon!
Love ur vids keep up the good work
Thanks
+snowcat You're not snowcat you fake bitch.
+AjackLee4 snowcats fake?! holy fuck I met him and he felt just like a real person. Even on the inside....
tbh red and black fairings would make this bike go from 7/10 to 11/10
to each their own. I like white on red :)
Yeah I really prefer two toned color schemes to the three ish color scheme on this one, regardless still looks good.
Should do a 30 min build series vid finishing the bike next time
YESSSSSSSSSSS
hell yeah
+Im Destructive yes
Krook He could finish it. But yes theres always something. But if all goes well a 30 min video of finishing everything is VERY possible
Not when you can do 25 parts and milk the views c'mon man gotta think business first :)
Anyone else think moto is a color scheme genius? This is gonna be the prettiest super moto on the streets👌
Looking forward to startup and testride :D!
Yeah! :D
o vad gör du här?
installed stainless lines on my grom and ruckus, couldnt get pressure on lever when i tried bleeding it. so i took the lever off and started pumping the piston by the master cylinder with a nut driver. nut driver allows you to push the piston in deeper to get pressure build up. the lever doesnt allow you to compress the piston deep enough get pressure. good luck on the build . looks good
Hey Motonosity, I actually just did some steel lines on my Bandit. It does take a while, and what I ended up having to do is tie the brake lever to the handle bar overnight, so the bubbles can work their way to the top of the system by the master cylinder. When you get back to it, just play with the lever by moving it only 1cm - 2cm about 20 times making sure to keep the fluid topped off, because all the air in the system will be right at the valve in the master cylinder, and will come out very easy, letting fluid into where the air gathered. After I did that, the calipers only needed one or two rounds of bleeding, and it was very firm.
Just saw this video on the homepage and now i watched All youre episodes! love them, and the bike
+➤DutchMaarten➤ Quited that's awesome! Thanks dude!
its siick!
*your*
That bike can't be better! It's perfect.
I absolutely love this build series. My biggest issue is that I dont know what I'm going to do when its over...
Samee
tru lol
I like the white and red color combo👌🏻
Bleed up through the caliper to the Rez , that's what we do on down hill mountain bikes and gets all the bubbles out !
Brakes take a lot more fluid than you think. Just keep going. when I put new brakes on my Quad it took half a bottle of brake fluid to get full pressure. Hope this helps.
common with hydraulic brakes that they are incredibly slow to get any preassure in if they were empty, but keep pumpin and sometimes it even fixes itself if you let it sit for a while, the air in the brake line can flow up to the master cylinder!
The freaking brake system alone is 1K, you are one lucky SOB for getting this bike build sponsored.
Props for using a torque wrench. I bought that tekton wrench for my uncle since he doesn't use it much. I can tell you that the difference between a snap on/tekton/gearwrench is apparent. If you use a torque wrench often and you want to upgrade, look for a beam style wrench. You turn a dial on the side to set the torque load and that's all. And you don't have to unload the wrench. I have a snap on one i love as well as 3 gearwrench/KD clicker wrenches. Just thought i'd pass that on! Most people don't bother torquing things. I do on engine parts and wheels. Everything else i'm just as guilty of having torque elbow...
Use a bottle with a hose to force brakefluid in through the bleednipple on the frontbrakes.
You should cut the rear of the front fender too, it's way too long :P
that front brake rotor is NICE
easiest way in my opinion to fill a completely new brake system is to back bleed using a syringe and piece of tubing. you inject fluid from the bottom at the caliper through the bleeder screw and push the fluid up to the master. if done right your brakes will be bled completely right away. if you want to keep trying with the manual bleed procedure make sure you get fluid moving through the master first (motomaster master cylinder has a bleed nipple unlike a lot of OEM master cylinders), then move down to the caliper and continue bleeding there.
the color on this rims is beautiful
Wow she is looking amazing now with those rims.
that thing is sick looking i think the white needs alittle bit of red just something to break up all that white but still bad ass
everyone knows he gonna ride it like an xr50 tho lol I wanna see turkeynek on it haha
Haha I'd love to see Turkeynek murder it on that thing! Next ride I do with him I'm letting him kill it on my CRF450R ha
Haha he kills shit even on his 50 lmao
Waka Vevo Haha for real man fuckin goals! Lol
that bike is looking so clean you aren't going to want to get it dirty
One of the prettiest steeds in all the land.
God damn, son, that bike is looking sharp!
Any suggestions on street conversions for a klx110 with 2.5-14 in front and 3.0-12 in rear?
I applaud you for stuffing the fattest back tire in there you could and messing with all the clearances. Fortunately the 150 rear I have fit with no issues, although I'm sure with some ambition I could wedge a 160 in there.
Im running a 180 on mine. It fits, kinda.
LazyWaffleman The crap kinda bike do you have!? Certainly not a supermoto... I don't think.
a friend of mine uses 180 tires on his ktm. it's always a huge pain in the ass to get the wheel in place
Nick Childs
Its an old wr400, it does fit. Not really well though.
looks good. quick tip, grease up your axle shafts before you put them in. It'll prevent corrosion and make them much easier to remove next time.
Love the S21's. As for your front brakes, gravity bleeding is the best way when dealing with empty lines and calipers.
Cut the back of the fender looks funky
When you do new calipers and lines you should pump the fluid in from the bottom with a vacuum pump to avoid air bubbles. once full you cap the res, and can then use the pump to pressurize the line.
cool Supermoto!!!! can't wait to build mine on September 1, and make videos like the rest of the motovloggers out there. Yes I will be making a build series as well. 2005 CRF450x Supermoto coming soon to my channel!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
SO FRESH SO CLEAN
That thing looks awesome.
I hope one day I can have a build like this.
not sure if you did, but when you torqued the rear sprocket to the wheel you were holding the torque wrench up on the shaft. To apply a correct torque, make sure your hand is on the handle section of the torque wrench. Very nice bike, wish you would just send me the WR!
Motonosity, I had the same issue with my front brakes, the master cylinder isnt strong enough to push the bubble down and out. You will need to get a vacuum bleeder kit from any auto store to bleed the front. This pulls the fluid/air down from the master cylinder rather than push it. Hope this helps bud! Goodluck with the build.
I think it would look soooo mutch better if it had a supermoto light instead of a lightbar and btw it looks sick
Oh, and if you want to successfully get that bolt out of the stator, look for the ridgid 35585, it works awesome and will not spread the bolt out inside the threads since it grabs linear.
it look absolutely beautiful as it is so when complete I think your going to be right about having the nicest supermoto ever seen
dude that looks so badass
Nice build series I'm sure it helps that you basically know every bolt on your motorcycle now.
Hi guys. I'm living in Holland and follow this series. Great job so far...👍
Hallo mede Nederlander🇳🇱👍
Please read this! You should get a custom seat built by Jason Conti who owns fourwerx carbon fiber. He can design you graphics and stuff for a seat cover, they look awesome. You also should consider getting a poly case saver from glann innovations, ULTIMATE ENGINE PROTECTION! Then all you need is a graphics kit! I suggest spyder graphics. That is who I ordered mine through.
Low key going to buy this from him.
its all about them details!!
The bike is looking really great man
The wheels are sick dude
I'm not a big fan of the supermoto front fenders but the bikes still badass man!
Hey thanks for a great vid 🤙
Those wheels are sexy. Thanks for showing us this build. Makes me comfortable to know what wrenching on a bike is really like. Things go wrong, and that's normal. lol.
that looks so cool motonosity
Nice color combo!
front brakes are a pain to fill with new fluid. took a while on my Harley to do it manually. On my crf450r I used my snap on vacuum brake bleeder and it took off some time but I still had to pump the lever and bleed them manually for a little to get a positive feel in the lever. Great looking bike dude!
You won't be disappointed with the s21 tyre. I run them on my gsxr1000
I just needed to hear Honda and I subscribed
Lookin good now!
Very nice moto build I'm a bit jealous tbh
Zip tie around the front brake master and let it sit overnight. Then the next morning remove the zip tie (do not touch the lever), and push the caliper towards the rim with your knee. It will force the air out at the top. Remember to check the fluid level before you push the lever.
Had the Same issue with the Motomaster Full brake Kit just zip tie the lever to the grip over night and Check it on the Next day was the only thing that helped me
sweet vid Moto. bike is looking real nice with the wheels on.
Yo moto you should slap your logo on the front fairing! keep it white and red and it would look sick!
Just squeeze the brake lever and use a zip tie to hold the lever pulled and let it sit overnight. You'll have brakes by morning. It's called gravity bleeding.
ooo it's looking real nice.
A rare sighting of Evo Moto!
She's coming together nicely!
That thing is looking mint dude
Thanks dude!
Another way you could fill the break lines is to use a syringe to push the fluid from the caliper up to the master cylinder. Worked great to bleed the breaks on my Polaris. You can find a tutorial about it here on the Tube.
Pretty sick bike
Okay the wheels look awesome
Man it's gettin close tho!!!! I get more and more excited with every new vid. I'll be so damn depressed once it's over lol
The thing sticking out of the caliper with the cap on it needs to be loosened then press the brake the fluid should come out of it then tighten it back brake should be good after that I had the same problem before
So I kind of missed the notification squad by 2 years. But I love your videos of this Im just watching alot of build series so I can get some Ideas for my 2004 crf250r. This is amazing I will not be converting to supermoto but love the powder coating and everything els
I always back bleed brake and clutch (when applicable) line. Never had an issue doing it that way and doesn't take NEARLY as long. Bike is lookin good! I'd keep an eye on that front brake line though, it looks awful close to the tire. Can always route it around the outside of the fork if need be
yeah we routed it that way to begin with and it looked ok, but it was much better when we put it on the inside, doesn't look like clearance will be an issue tbh.
evo moto Right on!
Yeah, what evo said! haha. Definitely will keep an eye on it. Just really didn't want it on the outside because I know it would've gotten snagged on something while doing stupid stuff :P
Motonosity "Instructions unclear, got dick caught in brake line"
I had a similar problem with the brakes I installed on my bike.. I had to start right at the brake reservoir where the fluid first goes into the line, bleed it there to get the air bubbles out and then go down to the bottom bleeder.. It took a little while but it eventually did end up working
You should do a sports bike build next
good luck looks great
Dear Motonosity, can you please make a video explaining and showing how to keep a constant speed (cruise), everytime i hold the throttle in a stationary position the rpms increases and so does the speed. This is something i really need help with and would appreciate alot if you taught me/the rest of your viewers :)
At 0:43 that sound scared the living shit out of me thanks Motonosity.
That brake calliper is basically an enlarged version of a mountain bike calliper. (Shimano zee to be specific).
I am always waiting for these videos every Monday. Thank You Motonosity.
very beautiful wheel ::)
Looking great!!
To get that pressure going move the piston in the caliper and keep bleeding till it starts moving
Wow! That supermoto looks awesome Brent!
Looking sweet !
Haha yea I hear ya I got a 140 on the back now on my marchesini but idk people been getting in my head about ohh a 160 tire belongs on a 5" rim soo idk I might go 150 if not I'll jus get another 140 thanks for the input tho bro thing looks nasty 👍
160 is ok on a 4.25" rim
that looks soo good
Had the same issue with new brake lines. Napa makes a good reverse bleeder. It's basically a hand pump to reverse bleed from the caliper. 60 dollars though :/
Gets prettier every episode, need to fly to the US to see it some day ahahha. Nice work Brent, keep it up.
Looks so dope
i patiently yet eagerly await the next video not looking creeply at the screen. Also you both must whip... and nay nay once completion of the bike is done.
Beautiful
DUDE! That looks so good with the supermoto rims!
hey man not sure if you've tried this, you say youve bled fluid through the brake line, with the master cylinder lid/cap off, look in the reservoir, pull the lever to the bar, and let it go, you might see trapped bubbles escape from the system. There may also be a bleed screw on your master that you might need to expel air from
If there is a bleed screw, bleed that first, then try the lever release. Keep doing it til no more bubbles come back up the brake line
You need to powder coat the shock spring and linkages the same color as the rims (y)
there typically is low fluid check valve on motorcycle master cylinders which makes filling/bleeding more difficult than an automobile, so a good power bleeder is the way to go...
i was joking about what i said earlier this bike is LIT
You got some good taste my friend
