Video of my Level 1 HPR Cert Flight 9-8-23

  • For months, I thought no footage existed of my Level 1 High Power Rocketry Certification flight, which took place on 8 September, 2023. But just a few days ago, I learned that a photographer named Don Martin had actually filmed the flight on three separate cameras, and he very graciously gave me permission to use his footage in this video! Thanks again, Don!

    Congrats. I'm guessing about 800 to 1000 ft. Any zippering? Looks like the camera was on a tripod. Nice tracking. Remember, if you don't record it, it never happened! 😀

      There was no damage caused to the rocket, despite the violent conditions of parachute deployment. My own estimate of its apogee is somewhere around 1300 feet, although simulations predicted about 1500 feet. I'm afraid I don't know the specifics of the camera setup, since I'm not the photographer.
