Thanks for review! Bought an Evo based on your reviews and got the Revo as well after seeing this one. Had it for about a month now and really enjoying it. Revo has more tail rocker than Evo and the vee quad concave which for me makes it want to get on rail and turn a lot more in the pocket. The Evo's quad inside single concave makes it ride crazy fast even when just trimming and Revo doesn't feel like that, it wants to be on rail turning much more for me. Revo is my new go to board as I really like that it wants to be on rail, but I think of it more as filling in the Tomo lineup between Evo and Cymatic rather than version 2 of the Evo. I think Evo is still great beginner/intermediate board and would recommend Revo for more solid intermediate surfers. Early to say for sure but I like the new construction. It is almost as floaty as the Helium but flex feels more like PU than usual epoxy. I'm 5'10" 185lbs surfing a 5'9" Revo at 34.7L in a 4/3 wetsuit. Currently I'm liking Revo as a quad with Legacy F6 Future fins, but only surfed it up to maybe head high waves.
I watched this review a year ago and didn't understand the hype around this kooky looking funboard. Fast forward a year, I tried a mates Revo today and I'm sold. Ripper board
I love your style of reviews. Funny. Dry humor. Descriptive. And very thorough. The only thing missing in these videos is actual surf footage. And maybe you guys discussing boards over pints..... I may have just created your next show .... Boards and Pints. 🍻
Soo. Not sure if FW gave you all the details. Vee bottom! Big deviation from the typical qisc. The stringer line sits lower in the water than the rails. I have one and just spent a week on it on the El Salvadorian point breaks. It’s well different. The thinner rail and more rocker makes it more of a high performance shortboard and it has none of that magic super boost thrust the evo had. I rode it as a quad and it was sluggish off the bottom turns. Lots of drifting in the tail with no drive. Then I put in naked Viking surf set of 2+1 and it came alive! Worked better in small waves again and turned great!
Bought one over the weekend. Board is awesome, rode it as quad with Performers. Groveld fine in 2-3, can't wait to get it in bigger surf. Super floaty board, almost as much as helium, just shy of that.
Completely different boards. EVO is a small wave monster. The REVO wants a good wave, has much more performance, isnt as forgiving but has a much better range in bigger, more powerful surf.
Enjoy your dry wit over the years Ian 😁 The question is...are FireWire going to be applying the Ibolic tech on other boards, and/or increasing the board size range in the ones currently on offer ie. Sci fi and frk ? Cheers for the top reviews
Hey, great review as always. Would you still suggest going short as possible for the revo just like the evo or is it just about matching volume recommendation on the firewire surfboard calculator? For example, I'm 73 kg & intermediate - firewire suggests 32L so just match that? Cheers!
Kind of. The EVO has its DNA running through this but both are Tomo shapes. The rocker is continuous that is correct and the Quad Concave inside the vee allows for more performance without losing the ease.
Huge Tomo fan. Have an Evo, Cymatic, Hydroshort and Hydronaught - this seems a lot like my Hydroshort - any noted differences in the hydroshort and this? Looks nice!!

How are you finding the revo these days? Are you still riding it as a quad? Just picked up a 5ft9 and wondering where to start with fins.

haha! It is a super fun board, stoked you enjoyed it !

Glad you like them!
“I-Bollocks.” Lol

Looks like a perfect everyday board.
It is! Easy to ride but bags of performance

Stoked. Enjoy it.
hi bro, what size do you ride and what's your weight? Thanks 🤙🏼
Best reviews going!
Thanks legend
Revo vs. seaside in mushy 3-4 foot on the face?
This guy cracks me up
What is your thought on sizing compared to an Evo? Match volumes?
Same thing I'm trying to figure out. I'm going with slightly less volume. 5-6 Evo 32.2L so a 5-7 Revo 31.4L.
@@lavapix how’d this sizing work out for you? What’s your height/weight
I’m 5’8, 155/160lbs... thinking about getting the 5’7 Revo that has 31.4L.... I usually ride 29/30 liters... anyone have opinions on sizing???
We would love to help. other factors come into play here. Drop us an email at info@boardshop.co.uk and we can help
Yeww great review Can you do a more in-depth review as the Revo has changed a lot and on sizings and all the other jaz
Lovely thank you! what would you say compared to the classic Tomo Omni?? similar...??
Glad to help. They have similar features but are very different to surf
@@BoardshopUK come on…get in depth pleaseee 🤓🤓🤓
I am an all time lover of the Omni but as you know it’s no longer made so…I am thinking on getting the Ibolic
What would you think is the difference in wave height or the wave range between the evo and revo?
Completely different boards. EVO is a small wave monster. The REVO wants a good wave, has much more performance, isnt as forgiving but has a much better range in bigger, more powerful surf.

Stoked you like the videos. We are hearing rumors more will be coming, not sure what yet! Watch this space.

Thank you! We have found you want to go 1" bigger than an EVO, that gave us the best results!
Nottoo old to get a good board Ian. Cheers
Never seen these boards before looks like they could be pretty fun in the Florida surf though.
It will go good anywhere, maybe other than Chopes!
Is it like the Cymatic with a rounded squash tail? And the rocker is still continues right?
Kind of. The EVO has its DNA running through this but both are Tomo shapes. The rocker is continuous that is correct and the Quad Concave inside the vee allows for more performance without losing the ease.
Gaaaaaaaw Blimey!
This is very exciting indeed..
How does it work as a quad?
Its FAST! Thruster is the best way to go.
Sick
Love the Evo - I'm ready to buy one of these purely based on the review. Want to ship to Indo?
You're so funny dude! :)
How would you size it compared to the evo?
We have found you want to go 1" bigger than an EVO, that gave us the best results!
I would love a soft top version of an evo/revo.
Hit Tomo’s dad up. He’s the ultimate soft topper.
Wouldnt work the same or even close, the conclaves wouldn’t transfer and it would be delayed
Catch Surf Twig?
Huge Tomo fan. Have an Evo, Cymatic, Hydroshort and Hydronaught - this seems a lot like my Hydroshort - any noted differences in the hydroshort and this? Looks nice!!
All have the TOMO DNA. This one has a Quad concave with vee bottom which makes it as easy and fun but with more performance.
Pair of bollocks, I'm having one!
Very fitting that your nearly sexual chemistry with your Evo has resulted in you having the first Revo review!
It was only natural.
e-bollock ? =)
Ibolic.....😂😂😂
Oh man, good bye another 1500USD...
Send it our way!
Ibolocs lol
