This track is so deeply touching, you can feel it burning somewhere inside you. Just like one of those late nights when you just dont exist and step into bizzare unknown.
Three years ago i was madly depressed. The pandemic had just started, had no job, no money, and was dealing with various personal problems. For some reason, I clicked on a KAS:ST link and listened to this music, and I instantly felt connected. I started listening to techno again, began dancing alone in my room to feel alive, kind of therapy, idk?. I promised myself that if I survived the pandemic i would go to a techno. I was 21 at the time. I was afraid to go, afraid of being judged, of not fitting into the 'scene'. In 2021 i got a terrible job but continued listening to techno, still with some hesitation about going to raves due to lack of time, money, and cowardice as well. In 2022, I found the courage to go, and it changed my life in a way that i can't describe. I'm not someone who fits the standard of beauty, but I don't care about that at raves. I go, talk to my friends, listen to hard techno, drink, and dance until the night turns into day. I gained self-esteem I never had. Because of this newfound self-esteem, I left mediocre jobs and am studying to pursue better opportunities in the field of 3D art. In a way, without KAS:ST, this wouldn't have been possible. I experienced inexplicable moments, traveled through cities to go to technos, attended raves and football games on the same day. I was reborn from the ashes. I lost one year of my life to the pandemic in order to live the rest of it while there is still time. I owe kasst a lot. Thank you if you read this comentary!

It definately is art. It's telling a story. It's an illustration of the life that sadly more and more people live. This track together with the video gives me incredible nostalgia for my late teens and early 20s.. It brings me right back and makes me feel as if I was young again, partying every weekend with my buddies. My heart aches because I know I'll only get older and nothing can bring these times or my youth back, while at the same time I'm glad I got to have these experiences, feel these feelings..
Man I'd give everything to have friends like this, who like Techno this much. My friends just don't get it. You people are lucky if you have someone to rave with every weekend.
Captures a sense of hopelessness in a way. They're trapped in an endless loop of intoxication, crime and violence as a means to cope. They all know the only way out is death.
No it doesn't this is just pure cheese. Vocal samples that on the nose and imagery of this sort is obviously going to illicit these sorts of "observations".it's literally no different than a love song telling you what to feel.
This song help me finish my late night assignments in college, gave me that extra energy. The energy this song gives out is extraordinary, like no other.
I was in Barcelona earlier in the Spring, attending one of the best raves of my life. Pure joy, pure techno, pure ecstasy. As always, it finished when the sun was up, maybe a bit later. We strolled at the beach. Fearless, full of motion, full of feelings. Kings of our stories, heroes of our tales. We are so young and numb, the kind of humans we always wanted to be. Met a ton of people that night, liked some, made friends, fell in love with them, barely recalling any of them. Maybe some faces, some moves, some names. I walked every inch of that city that day, sipping my sports drink, trying to recover from an amazing night. Next thing I remember is sitting on an awful chair, of a low cost airline, taking off at the airport. I had kas:st on my headphones, this particular track. My gut was kicking, the feeling of this coming to and end was killing me. I was looking out of the plane window, gazing the sunset, looking for some hope in those purple evening clouds. I was looking at the beach and the calm sea seeking for help. Suddenly all of that context was soothing my soul. I looked at the ground, still taking off, spotted some pools and small villas. Plane took a turn , heading to Europe. And there, there was a graffiti by a pool. It read, "KAS:ST". That, was beyond me. I enjoyed every little moment I had left and fell asleep.
What a masterpiece. Brings me back to when we used to show up at the rave at 12am with the boys. Young, zero cares, deep bass, joy. It's a feeling I can't even explain and I feel sad for the people who never experienced it. It's a culture and it's something I'll cherish forever.
I almost forgot this was a music video. Great storytelling, sorely missing in today's so-called "movies." I also like how it's showing what happens in a lifestyle like this without being preachy about it. And lastly, those outfits. Love the 90's theme.
Really looks like the Vosges doesn't it ? I was wondering were this could be shot but the mountains, the architecture and the lake can't really be anywhere else.

Thanks for KAS:ST for creating this masterpiece, it has not only brightened my life but also showed me the world of techno!
Wow, im not in techno but this...man, speechless. Each second of music, every frame of video, art. So much story. Shot on skull in 4:22 and tattoo on back in 4:27, great filming and symbolic.

Lyrics : I don't have to tell you things are bad Everybody knows things are bad It's a depression Everybody's out of work or scared of losing their job The dollar buys a nickel's worth Banks are going bust, shopkeepers keep a gun under the counter Punks are running wild in the street And there's nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do And there's no end to it We know things are bad - worse than bad They're crazy It's like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don't go out anymore We sit in the house, and slowly the world we are living in is getting smaller And all we say is: 'Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms' I don't know what to do about the depression and the inflatio And the Russians and the crime in the street All I know is that first you've got to get mad You've got to say: 'I'm a human being, goddamnit, my life has value!' I'm a human being, my life has value! [2x] I don't know what to do about the depression and the inflatio And the Russians and the crime in the street All I know is that first you've got to get mad You've got to say: 'I'm a human being, goddamnit, my life has value!'
In 30 years I’ll have made a Sci-fi cyberpunk movie and in one particular scene, which is set place in a techno club, this song will be the soundtrack.

this video is such a well executed transparent and genuine reflection of the reality we live in, that is especially relevant to this depicted European area of the world. Euphoria, depression, frustration, anger, intoxication, and loneliness are some of the very frequently recurring states that we find ourselves in as humans living in this period of history, living in the age of decadence, where only a very few things still have meaning.
@@HomoFullyErectus Nick, son .. What do you possibly know about history ? Nothing much apparently. If you did, however, know anything significant about the vast and perplexing subject, you would know that the equivalent term of the word "Decadence" has been clearly mentioned, described and explained within the historical documentation of countless civilisations ranging across multiple timelines within history, some of which, are Sumerian, Ancient Egyptian, Ancient Greek, and Roman historical texts .. It signified the particular period when those civilisations have politically, socially, and economically oversaturated and thus reached a point where they, as societes, were over-indulging in recreational activities and have predominantly lost interest in the fields of work which were the initial cause of their greatness and success as empires. Hope that helps Dick, I mean, Nick ..
Nick, it doesn't really matter what you "Think". This is not an opinion, these are factual cyclic phenomena that have been observed back when countless great civilizations have fallen, and accordingly, have been documented and communicated to us, in the case of the fall of Rome for example, by the likes of, Seneca, Livy, Plutarch, and Cassius Dio. These periods of decadence leading to the fall of such empires have been described as periods of extreme comfort, luxury, overspending, overemphasis and excessive appeal to trivial and mainly recreation subjects and activities. If you cannot draw similarities between such descriptions and the state of events that characterize the world we live in today, then this discussion is pretty much futile, and it is not I that is full of shit but you who is completely consisted of it.

This is not just a song, it touches my heart every time I hear it. . You can feel the story and the music with your body.

What a video! Loneliness in this modern world drives to madness
Marvelous, the kas:st's beach is in Barcelona??

What a masterpiece. Brings me back to when we used to show up at the rave at 12am with the boys. Young, zero cares, deep bass, joy. It's a feeling I can't even explain and I feel sad for the people who never experienced it. It's a culture and it's something I'll cherish forever.
I almost forgot this was a music video. Great storytelling, sorely missing in today's so-called "movies." I also like how it's showing what happens in a lifestyle like this without being preachy about it. And lastly, those outfits. Love the 90's theme.

Lyrics :
I don't have to tell you things are bad
Everybody knows things are bad
It's a depression
Everybody's out of work or scared of losing their job
The dollar buys a nickel's worth
Banks are going bust, shopkeepers keep a gun under the counter
Punks are running wild in the street
And there's nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do
And there's no end to it
We know things are bad - worse than bad
They're crazy
It's like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don't go out anymore
We sit in the house, and slowly the world we are living in is getting smaller
And all we say is: 'Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms'
I don't know what to do about the depression and the inflatio
And the Russians and the crime in the street
All I know is that first you've got to get mad
You've got to say: 'I'm a human being, goddamnit, my life has value!'
I'm a human being, my life has value! [2x]
I don't know what to do about the depression and the inflatio
And the Russians and the crime in the street
All I know is that first you've got to get mad
You've got to say: 'I'm a human being, goddamnit, my life has value!'

gives me goosebumps when i think about how relevant the song is
this video is such a well executed transparent and genuine reflection of the reality we live in, that is especially relevant to this depicted European area of the world.

1. Destruction of religious values, faith in god replaced by faith in science.
2. Destruction of Family values, parents have less time for raising their Kids so they get raised by strangers in daycare, School etc.
3. Less and less people in Europe are having Kids, and I can't blame them. Who wants to birth a child into this world?
4. European cultures in all forms replaced by American consumerist "culture".
