    People always wonder if there is one exercise that will train the obliques and abs at the same time. The idea is, if you could find just 1 exercise that can accomplish this, you could get double the results in half the time!
    Enter the Double Edge Woodchopper Exercise!
    This abs and obliques exercise is one of my favorites and one that I rely on all the time with my top professional athletes (particularly my baseball players) who need to depend on rotational core power to be able to hit the ball far!
    Watch as I dissect the reasons why this exercise ranks up there with the best ab exercises you can do and then head over to athleanx.com to grab the workout system that combines exercises just like this one into a 90 day program for getting you the same ripped, lean and athletic muscle that todays top athletes are sporting. @jboijseauneau Hey guys! Not a weight exercise because it changes the mechanics of the move. The cables provide the eccentric part of the exercise that the dumbbells would not. You CAN sub in tubing however if you can anchor it in a similar way as it is here. Stay strong TEAM ATHLEAN!

    @wasimsworld Yes you sure can at 40! I got 8 of 'em on me and I'm 62. Never saw any of them before now! Eating right is the key. Don't care what anybody says, do your sit-ups! and every other kind of abdominal exercise you can put in your arsenal and you'll be good to go. Jeff's system has plenty of variety and he also has a series of abs videos on youtube.

    Jeff, how is your footing in motion during this movement? How do I position myself with the machine so that the cable doesn't touch me during the movement?

    hey jeff thanx for this video i rele like all ur workouts on youtube and i recently bought athleanx and am loving the results quick question: could you please explain what eccentric and concentric contractions are?

    • @InWitheNew
      @InWitheNew ปีที่แล้ว

      I know this comment is 12 years old but for anybody coming to this video with the same question:
      It's really just bend and extend. Easy to remember it by root words.
      Centric = center.
      Ex = out of or away from
      Con = with or together
      Essentially, for any exercise you'll do, there will be a concentric and an eccentric motion. Let's say bicep curls, when you curl the dumbbell or barbell, that is a concentric motion (pulling the muscle together) when you return to the starting point and your bicep stretches back out, that is eccentric.
      For squats, it's the opposite. When you squat, your quads stretch out and that makes it an eccentric motion. When you stand back up, your quads relax and shorten again, making the motion concentric.

Will it still give the same results, if not similar? I asked because, martial arts has a lot of rotations involved, & I want to take my rotations a step further, while hitting the abs & the obliques. Yes, like hitting 2\3 birds w/ 1 tranquilizer dart XD. Thanks in advance =3.
