Interesting how there's this big urge to move val. No one knows the conditions that caused him to keep ending up in the assistance program. It could even stem from whatever drugs he was being pumped with during the cup run. The man makes the team better. We've seen in the regular season and the playoffs and the thought of him being benched at any point, if healthy, sounds ludicrous. We benefited from this exact frame of mind to get kadri and here we are saying the same stuff the Toronto media were saying about him. I get there's an emotional element and I definitely felt it too, thus why I'm a week late to the video, but this is not the kind of player that they should be getting rid of for the sake of 'what if'.

It's because people have this false logic, that you can trade broken pieces with broken pieces. They think because Laine is in the NHLPA he is the same as Nichuskin, but it isn't the same. Laine went to the program to take care of his mental health, he isn't there because he has twice fcked the team with substance abuse. People have difficulty with being rational sometimes.

I think Columbus sends Laine via the owner's private plane if the avs offered up Val. I think you're grossly inflating Laine's trade value while simultaneously deflating Nichushkin's.
You don’t easily mature out of racism, unfortunately. Not in this day and age. I severely hope CMac and Co pass on this doofus-let someone else deal with the controversy. Talent shouldn’t give you a pass for being an awful human and that happens WAY too often. I guarantee you he’s counting on his “being good at sports” to get him out of the frying pan and I do not want my team to be the place that gives him that reinforcement.
