BOB the cat, star of best selling book and film A Street Cat Named Bob, died after being hit by a car, his heartbroken owner has revealed.
His ex-heroine addict owner, James Bowen, who wrote a best selling series about his cat who changed his life has opened up about learning the devastating news.

The last time James Bowen saw his beloved cat Bob was at 11pm last Saturday night in the kitchen of his Surrey home when he gave him dinner as usual.
Half an hour later when it was time for bed - the ginger tom usually slept on a blue fleecy blanket on top of his owner’s duvet - James couldn’t find him.

I couldn't stop crying when I found out Bob died. Bob was sent by God to help James rebuild his life then Bob went back to heaven. Bob could not talk but could show love and affection that was still strong.
How sad that precious Bob was lost. I have all the books and DVDs. He was a treasure loved by millions worldwide.
For a cat like him who changed his human in a positive way n brought him happiness, wha a cruel way to die, RIP you were one special cat with a purpose!

Oh my god.. literally, this is the first time today to find out that he died by car accident, soo sad poor soul may he rest in peace now sweet little angel Bob❤❤. What's sad is that i felt for him.... my three cats were hit by car one after another i find their bodies it was soo hard to watch...the world stopped for couple of minutes i couldn't believe it but yeah... 2020 is by far the worst ever year.

When I heard about how Bob died, it brought me memory of when I was leaving my house to go work, I saw a day lying on the ground in alley with a brick next to him! I had no clue how, who did. I had to go back to tell my mum to do something as i never seen anything like that before! It is a shame that loads of animals who are killed are just not given a lovely send off

So sorry for your loss, the love of a cat and human is beyond any words that can explain the deepest heartbreak 💔. I have loved and lost 3 cats,and my last one was the hardest by far.I am still grieving and Thanksgiving was his 1 anniversary of my Busters sudden death.I have all three of my Cats cremated. They now sit on my dresser. I was able to adopt two rescue kittens two brothers that were bonded and could only be adopted together.I am so blessed to get to look after these precious creatures and have felt the true meaning of love.

Condolences. What I don't understand is why wasn't Bob locked in? Sure, he may never have roamed but a cat has instincts and there's always that possibility to go on a night stroll. He was kept on a leash when James busked, but not secured in his dwelling. He should have been locked in at all times. So tragic to lose to an avoidable accident.
