    I am in my 7th week! I've not had much nausea so far. The last couple of days I get a wave of it every now and then. I will be getting an ultrasound tomorrow morning! Super excited to see this baby! Hoping we get to see/hear the heart beat. I'm a bit nervous about it since I've had a miscarriage, but trying my best to stay positive about everything. I'm thankful that this pregnancy has felt different than my last... I love seeing your updates!! We are only a few weeks apart!

    I'm actually 7w1d today, so I guess my symptoms are similar to this video :) I had bad nausea last week but it has calmed down quite a bit this week. I can feel a difference in my body as well!! rounding out in the lower belly where there wasn't at the beginning.

    • @jazzyj4765
      @jazzyj4765 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can try sucking on hard candies, such as peppermint and or jolly ranchers. Peppermint helps to calm an upset stomach, as well as nausea, and jolly ranchers, help with the amount of saliva in your mouth, from the nausea you're having, and while sucking on the jolly ranchers, it really took away my feeling of being nauseated. Drinking ice water also helps, as do Ritz peanut butter crackers and gingerbread cookies.
      Hopefully, your nausea doesn't last very long and you feel better soon!

      I'm also seven weeks one day today :) congrats :)

  • @jazzyj4765

    During my pregnancies, while at church, I'd bring a water bottle, hard candy, such as jolly ranchers and peppermint candies. Peppermint candies help calm the lining of your stomach, as well as decrease the feeling of nausea and an upset stomach, and jolly rancher candies help with nausea by controlling the amount of saliva in your mouth.
    I'd also eat Ritz peanut butter crackers and drink ice water on our way to church.
    Our drive to church was 10-15 minutes and our service was from 10:30am to 11:45 or noon.
    Hopefully, you'll get some good ideas here in your comments, try a few of them out, and see if a couple of them work out for you!
    Please let us know if you do try a few ideas, what your thoughts and opinions were on them, and if they worked, worked only a little bit, didn't work at all, or if they were a success.

    I've been watching your pregnancy updates and I have to admit I was a bit jealous as I've been having some serious baby fever. • @BrittHanlon

    I have a strange question... how do you go about asking your drs if you can film your appointments? Do you tell them it will be going on TH-cam? My husband and I are going through the fertility process and I'd like to film it and post on my channel, eventually. But I feel so awkward asking if it's okay. Would love to know how you handle it :)

    • @NatalieBennett
      @NatalieBennett  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Britt Hanlon Good question! (And many prayers for your new adventure!) I have found that being very straightforward with the question of filming is best. I know many hospitals/clinics don't allow cameras. I have asked my doctors and nurses every time if they are comfortable with me filming. Some have said yes, some have said no, others are ok with my filming the process but not including their names or faces. I've never included the faces of my practitioners or the info about my clinic as a courtesy to them as well as to protect my own privacy.

    Aww...so happy for you! :-) Glad your doctor is behind you on the VBAC. Sounds like you got a great new doctor! :-) I am also glad your nausea is under control. What protein do you use to help? Since I got pregnant my body has rejected meat except for a little turkey bacon from time to time and a little tuna fish but have to be careful about that obviously. Do you have a special drink or something or do you just get it from meat and other regular sources?

    • @jazzyj4765
      @jazzyj4765 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My body rejected meat with my first pregnancy and I could only eat fruit and veggies. I, at that time, googled fruits and veggies high in protein, and there are quite a few. If I was sick of eating fruits and veggies, I'd snack on Ritz peanut butter crackers, which peanut butter is a great source of protein.

    • @jazzyj4765
      @jazzyj4765 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was never a vegetarian either, but the look and the smell of meat would literally make me ill!
      When you go from eating meat to only fruits and veggies, you will, at first feel bloated, especially if you weren't a big fruit and veggie eater to begin with.
      I was a somewhat healthy eater and always, at least, ate veggies everyday, but I still felt bloated, once I started eating mainly fruit and veggies.
      Also, do not freak out if you start losing weight while eating mainly fruits and veggies. I lost 20 pounds in 4 months, when I stopped eating meat.
      When you get further along in your pregnancy or even towards the end, your body may allow you to start eating meat again.
      I myself, eating mainly fruits and veggies, felt so much more energy, I felt healthier than I had ever felt, and I felt an overwhelming feeling that my mind and body were toxin free and clean, so I stayed vegetarian throughout my pregnancy.

    When is the baby due date?

  • @fowlerfamilyhomestead3389
    @fowlerfamilyhomestead3389 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So I had to do some research and ask some midwives. I to am pregnant and wanted to know because I'm planning my second vbac homebirth. I live in Washington. It's not illegal they are more guidelines. But vbacs can be performed without a surgeon or a physicians approval. Of course you need to do what feels best for you. I also looked up Washington law and it says what the midwives I asked said. Guidelines not law. I pray you have a successful vbac!

    • @NatalieBennett
      @NatalieBennett  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I originally wanted to see a group of midwives but when called to set up the appointment, they told me that they can't legally give me a home birth or birth center birth without the risk of losing their certification. They didn't have privileged at the local hospital so seeing them for my care wasn't possible. It sounded more like "law" than "guideline" so maybe they need to brush up on their Washington state rules. Thanks for looking into it and commenting. I'm super happy with my doctor so looks like I'll be sticking with this route :-)

    • @fowlerfamilyhomestead3389
      @fowlerfamilyhomestead3389 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Azdhs.gov/documents/licensing/special/midwives/committees/mspac/additional-resources/state-laws-chart-vbac-br-mg.pdf
      This website shows every states requirements for vbacing. On ours it says under are vbacs allowed.
      Yes. RCW 18.50.010; 18.50.108 (must annually submit written plan for consultation with health care providers, emergency transfer, and transport of woman and infant). Per the MAWS document at p.4, prior cesarean birth is an indication for consultation with a physician.
      To me that is guidelines not law. But I suppose we all have to listen to the ones we hear things from though. Anyways regardless of all this healthy babies is most important. Looking forward to watching the rest of your updates 😊

    Hey Natalie, I'm curious what the doctors name is and the clinic name that you switched to, the one that your sister is using also? I live in Marysville WA, so i'm right in your area. I also have fraternal twin boys (mine are Owen and Evan) that are just a couple months younger than yours! I had a C-section for both of them and my husband and I are thinking about trying for the next baby soon and I want to do a vbac as well. Looking for a good doctor that will assist in a vbac, so I would really appreciate the info! Thanks! Excited for you and this new adventure of a singleton pregnancy!! I hope my next pregnancy is a singleton too! I want the experience of carrying one baby!

    • @NatalieBennett
      @NatalieBennett  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd totally love to answer this question but I'm just not comfortable giving that info. Not just for my personal privacy (I don't want everyone knowing where I'm delivering) I also assured my doctors and nurses that I wouldn't be disclosing this info or showing their faces in my videos. I can assure you though that many doctors at both the Everett Clinic/Providence and Skagit Valley Clinics/ Hospital are open to VBAC deliveries. I would assume these are your options for the region you live! I wish I could say more, dear. I hope you understand!

    • @kaitlinardeeser3362
      @kaitlinardeeser3362 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought that might be the case, and no worries, I totally do understand! I went through Everett Clinic last time and delivered at providence, but I was hoping to find another doctor outside of the Everett Clinic and hoping to go as naturally as possible! I'll just have to do more research!
