Happy Christmas Kirsty Lo and your family. I too come from a Hakka family and I am based in the South West of England. Your dad is amazing cooking all that delicious looking food. I love your channel. I think the Hakka language should be spoken more amongst Chinese people, but is a fast fading language.

Happy New year to you guys.Your grandma is a sweetheart and I enjoy watching her cook authentic Hakka dish.She adds the most imp ingredient in every dish she makes, and that is love in prepping it.The interactions between you too are pure love and it reminds me of my childhood days with my late Granny.I believe your Hakka identity has been greatly influenced by your grandparents.Your spoken Hakka is very attractive and sincere.Unlike me.I hardly get to speak Hakka in live.I live in the U.S but often travel to Toronto,Canada to visit my Hakka friends and camaraderie.If ever you happen to visit this side,and like exposure to your Hakka roots and Toronto area,my wife and I would gladly show you the huge Hakka diaspora around Toronto suburb (more than 10k).You might get a Hakka culture shock during dimsum time,all talking in Hakka.Your elders are very humble and a caring bunch.

@@KirstyLo Your Grandma's Hakka is very pure. Going by the way she speaks Hakka,I guess her family either first settled in Malaysia,Hk or India during British colony before immigrating to the UK.Your dad is a good Cantonese Chef too but Granny is classic.You mentioned your dad has Latino roots too.Mind sharing his background.Hakka people has such an interesting migratory history.You have a rich family history

@@KsenLee Indeed my Grandma is very traditional Hakka, she’s originally from Hong Kong. Yes my Dad has Latino roots, he was born in Aruba 🇦🇼 My Dad’s Mum is Latino Spanish and Dad’s Dad is Hakka Chinese, a lovely mix in my family!❤️
