Thanks for the video. I bought a 480C with water in the oil and am rebuilding it now. Have not operated the backhoe yet and expect to this summer. Cant wait.
I fully agree! Strong and nimble. A couple of people mentioned the size of the front bucket in other videos that I have was way too big but that machine never struggled with picking anything up that I needed it to.
Tiger Woodz - I sold the machine about 2 yrs ago. However, I had the machine for 15 yrs prior to selling it and it always had plenty of power. In the video, the engine was at idle. From what I could find, the backhoe dig force is around 6383 lb. Let me know if you have any additional questions.
I always liked machinery and was going to get into the construction career but I decied to be a pilot instead, Im a big fan of case backhoes especially the classics. I operated a 580 when I was a kid. Is a 480C just a predecessor to the 580C? is the 480 backhoe able to be converted to a blade box loader?

I work with a 480c almost daily and really like the available power on such a nimble platform.

How big is the 480 compared to my 580C ? I think mine is about 6 tons. I'm guessing yours is 2/3 the size.

It’s a 1980 Model
