Looks like a fun course. I love a bit of mud! Great video as always. Also enjoyed your recent Jesmond Dene parkrun video and I'm keen to give that one a go. May also give Thorp Perrow a go next time I'm down that way. Cheers!
Thank you! Jesmond was a lot of fun and so was this… in a rather cross country adventure kind of way! That uniqueness is what makes Parkrun tourism so fun though. Laps of a flat field wouldn’t be the same.
You'll be needing your wellys again next week Al. It always rains at Hamsterley. Great to see these different parkruns lately, I need to get out and try a few
Thanks Paul! Beautifully chilly is a very accurate description! Next week features Lorna and for the first time, my little brother so should hopefully be a good one!
Well done Al, nice start to the year. Have to say I think I’ve had enough of the mud now. My local route along the South Shields coastal path has been like a quagmire for weeks now
Haha, hear hear! I’m with you on that, seems to have been muddy for months, even during spells of decent weather. All of my shoes are constantly wet, they never have time to dry out before the next run!
Loved the video, thanks again. Didn't make TP, not because of my rock n roll round of golf, but I had to take the cat on a mercy mission to the vets just up the road. Hoping to have no excuses for Hamsterley, apart from only running once so far this year.... 'and the man at the back said every.....' ( do you get the 70s glam rock reference there?) Apologies for the mega ramble. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Phil! Is the cat okay?! I’m looking forward to Hamsterley, Lorna’s running and so is my little brother (for the first time on the channel) so it’s a pepper trio! Unfortunately I had to google the lyric before realising it was Sweet!
Great video buddy, you need to get yourself to Whinlatter 😁
Whinlatter just had a course change too it's stunning though
@@Clairewy only for 3 or 4 months until the work is done around the old course 😁
@@briankerr2989 yep
@@Clairewy@briankerr2989 hey both! Apologies, I’ve only just seen these comments! Yeah I’ve heard a lot about Whinlatter!
Makes me long for warmer, drier weather! Happy running for the year ahead 😊
I’m giving Mother Nature until the end of February at the latest! Bring on spring! Thank you and you too!

Haha, don’t tell me that! I’ve just ran my trainers under a cold tap to try and get rid of the bog smell. Fingers crossed they dry by the weekend!
Looks a blast ! The Pastures parkrun is a similar one if you've not tried it before, lovely setting beside Alnwick castle
I’ve not, thanks for the heads up! I have ran up there before though and it’s a lovely area isn’t it!
Nice video al it looked a beautiful chilly morning on a tough course.loved your banter as always thanks. Can't wait for the next one.

It definitely was a muddy one Al.
Ha, to put it mildly! Great seeing you though!

That’s a tough course on the legs!!what time did you do it in?
@@trudahammett just under 29 minutes! Spent more time going sideways than forwards!
The cat is on the mend thanks, benefitting from a tuna and cheese rich diet!
Yes that was me 🤣🤣 under 29minutes with the rain hammering it down and lots of mud 😂😂
Looks beautiful what rtpe of shoes did you wear for it
I took my roads and trails as I wasn’t sure what it would be like. Chose my trails and very glad I did! It would have been treacherous if not!
Has to be trails on Thorp Perrow.
@@JfK--OBJECTivE for sure! It would be treacherous in road shoes when muddy!
