I started crocheting at almost 70. It was on my bucket list. This is my first baby crochet blanket. I had a few stumbling blocks, but once I got that ending and turn start next row, I thought why did I think this was hard. Love this pattern and teacher. Thank you so much.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this. I’m 24 weeks pregnant and bored in quarantine, so I picked up my balls of yarn and started this. This blanket is gorgeous and I love how clear you are (I’m new to crochet so the repetition is really useful to me). Thanks so much. I did the hat too :)

BK Sunnydays: I am a beginner. I worked on this project for about 2 hours a day, and it took me 11 days to finish. At first, I was slow because made mistakes. After crocheting a few rows, it was easy and getting faster. This is a beautiful blanket, and very soft. My second granddaughter is due to arrive in August. I can not wait to present this gorgeous blanket to her and my daughter.

@@tracyoconnor2651 I repeated 2 - 4. That is what makes the pattern so lovely as it's not just straight shell, the lace effect is created by the chain stitch row. I've had trouble with the wool thickness am using AU 8ply and a 4mm hook.it measure correctly but the pattern seems quite open.

I decided to give this a try using worsted weight yarn since I had a lot of it. I thought I would try for a car seat size blanket, rather than the full size, since I wasn't sure I could follow the video. I used 81 chains, 15 of the 4 dc, ch and then 3 ch at the beginning and the end. The first row turned out exactly what I wanted. When I finished the second row, I had 16 shells instead of 15. It looks okay and I am going to keep going with the 3rd row and see where I get. It is a beautiful pattern.

When you look at the finished blanket, it doesn’t look like it would be a simple pattern but it definitely is and you make it look so easy. I have been working along with you using a 6 mm hook but my holes are larger than yours so I think I would like to use a smaller hook. Thanks again I love this pattern. :-)
