Thanks, I don't really watch any hearthstone stuff other than trump and trolden's vids and both used the song without giving a link so I had no idea where it came from.
You're not running big slosher in this deck, but why does it double buff the minion it returns when used with heart of vir'naal? Surely it cant return the minion to your hand twice so it should not buff it twice?

It does stack, but if you're referring to the part at 6:30, the reason Trump says it "does work" is because casts The Storm Bringer before Ancestral Spirit, which is good because transformation removes enchantments like Ancestral Spirit, but then he realizes that if he uses the double battlecry hero power before he plays the Horror, it will cast Stormbringer -> Ancestral Spirit -> 2nd Stormbringer which removes the first Ancestral Spirit ->2nd Ancestral Spirit. Playing that Horror with the hero power wouldn't really be any different from playing it without the hero power.
Yes, if you cast ancestral spirit onto something twice, when it dies, two copies of it will happen
Single card quest shaman is also a great control deck, think about having +5 aladin guy.
Trump hates Questing Explorer so irrationally just because everyone else jumped on a bandwagon for it.
I mean there are a lot of decks out there that shouldn’t be running questing explorer. Like Druid, shaman or rogue because they complete their quest really fast and then it becomes a river croc

I mean I can agree with running it in shaman because it can help with quest completion and is a river croc at worst (u dont need value in that deck) however it's best played on turn 2 and guess what druid wants to do on turn 2, not use 2 mana so I think it's bad in druid for sure
The good thing about quest explorer (in this deck) is that the battlecry doesn't activate with shudderwock, when a lot of times you're close to fatigue. If you manage to draw before finishing the quest, of course
It's an amazing early game card and even just being a 2/3 that does nothing is not the worst thing to play because at that point you should be ahead since your quest is complete.
I think walking fountain is a really insane card atm, almost zilíax level good

Thoughts on running bloodlust as an extra win condition? This deck is able to play wide very easily with lackeys and you can very quickly put 20+ face damage up if they have even a single turn they don't clear. Also found twilight drake can be interesting to mess with a typically runs 15+ health with the double battlecry.
I thought the same and tried it, it isa good idea in principle but I haven't had the right conditions often enough. Always the chance with Vulp, Hag & Lackey to pull it.
Mutate is rarely, but sometimes, a dead card, but sometimes it wins games by itself. My average results with it are pretty good. Besides my hand is often really full, so having the low cost spell often costs me nothing. I also skip Barista. It is super rare that I am in a situation where I would use her at all. Walking Fountain seems a bit slow in this deck, I already have 3 high costs that are super dead in opening hand. Also I found healing to very rarely be relevant beyond lifedrinker. I don't need to outvalue warrior, I usually just kill him before it gets to that point since I can refill my board and make a swampqueen derp combo that sticks sooner or later. I only run one questing, since it is a dead draw in the late game and I use a tech card instead. Either hungry crab or weapon removal (currently hungry crab) since one of the few decks that was able to overpower me a bit too often was murloc when my discovers were bad. Love quest shaman. A lot of skill needed to play it well. Some turns you rope out unless you pick super fast :D
@UC4DTHeKf_RgxBQob3shamSQ works if you draw mc-tech and get good steals, preferably while you have a board. Besides, quest shamans run murlocs as well as a few other decks, giving some good tempo. Some games I eat a sludge, sometimes with double battlecries and get a 5/6, which is fair for the low cost or I just fit the crab to fill my curve and complete the quest. It's a cheap battlecry, so it's always ok in the early game just to complete the quest. Turn 5 murloc spell can get pretty nasty if they have a good early game.
Lotsa skill? To me it seemed like they just play on curve, put two and two together removal wise and win with insane card advantage.
@@HighLanderPonyYT Sure, you can sometimes just curve out without much thought and win. But there's a lot of discover and in some version even some random card generation. There may be many solutions to any board state and many reasonable options from discover. It is also a bit tricky some turns to properly calculate costs and damge. You also play very differently depending on your opponent. You're a defensive/control deck vs murloc pal, quest pal, zoo. An aggro/zoo deck against some control/combo decks. A value/otk deck against control warriors. All your discovers and value plays shift around heavily as well as how you treat your minions.
You don't need skill to play the deck, but to play it well you definitely do.
I cut Barista and one walking Fountain for 2 Bog Slosher - even more value ;)

The warrior matchup stats are from the dumbo take 10 fresh cards card 😑 dont remeber her name atm but i played warrior a couple of times it basicly automaticlly goes to fatigue because both are so good at clearing boards (well there is maybe a magicly barista out but i wouldnt count on it as it needs alot of handspace)

I think he had lethal at 24:50. If he used hero power and wasp then traded a 1/1 for more board space it would do 12 burst. With the 7 damage on board that would make 19 damage which would kill him.

I get questing explorer in unusually large percentage of my opening hands, feels like 50% or more
Is that unusual? If you're playing two in a quest deck and mulling for it, every card you see is at worst 2 out of 29 to be questing, and you're seeing 2 starting cards + 2 mulligan cards + 2 draw steps for 6 chances to find a questing by turn 2, and that's on the play.
@@Alucula I dont mull for it specifically. There's several 2-cost cards total but this one seems to show up the most by a large margin.
If my math hasn't completely rotted away:
On the play, if you mull anything but quest or adventurer, you have a ~38% chance to have it by turn 2 (6 cards looked at), and on the draw that chance is 48% (8 cards looked at).
If nothing is up with the card (and I doubt it) you should have a ~48% chanse of drawing at least one of two cards in your first 8 cards looked at (based on you running a quest).
"Feels like" means it's the selective memory bias. You remember the times you had it, but not so much the times you didn't. This happens more with cards that you don't NEED to win. If you immediately lost the game where you didn't have it, you'd remember not having it a lot more.

@@jakubskonieczny5750 You guys must have a different build than I do. I use the 3/3 that bounces a card back and gives it +2/2. With that, you can double up on the Horrors, or stuff like the 1/1 that summons a 5/5. Even stuff like Sludge Slurper get a lot of mileage in the deck.
@@TheFuzzician I don't have the deck, I hate it because it does unfair stuff and completing quest is way to easy with lackys. But when I play against them I try to pressure them as hard as possible (not even with aggro deck) I'm close to winning because they have like 2-3 cards and below 15 hp and than they shudderwock and I lose because after that I never seen shaman losing.

Tried out this deck, ½ way through i swapped one of the mogu for zephrys... if i remember right, i went 9-12 @ Rank 10 on EU. my auto loss scenario was pretty much shaman mirror'ish decks, or control warrior (for god sake, 20+ min pr game.... zZzzZz)
The fact that running Zephrys in a non singleton deck isn't a bad move goes to show how powerful he is.

I find that quest shaman functions a lot better as a burn deck with the fire ele version, I personally cut a Mutate for an earthquake for murloc paladin's early nomi if they get the nuts, or to just clean a board in general, all burn goes face and gg

Do you really hate Questing Explorer that much? Yeah in some quest decks it's not that great but in others such as Rogue and Mage it's pretty good. Plus its 2/3 for 2, arent those good stats for a 2 drop?
Thing is it's in a weird spot for shaman since you finish the quest so quickly that its just a 2/3 for 2.
For other classes where the quest isn't done. It's good.
Even then it's in a weird spot were you run it in a quest deck but becomes a dead 2/3 when you finish the quest. ( Which you will because it's a quest deck.)
How is noone running a copy of Bloodlust in a deck that ends up having lots of tokens on board in a lot of cases?

I've played the deck quite a bit. Lackeys and Sandstorm Elemental help a lot in the early game, I haven't had much trouble with aggro

I stopped running Questing Adventurer. It basically becomes a dead useless card in your deck after turn 4. No need to draw anyway. Quest Shaman has so much value coming in regardless.

Shaman can most definitely use more value on the early bits of the game. Card draw is good. Card draw that furthers your quest on a battlecry that doesn't trigger off shudderwok when you're worried about fatigue by that point against warrior is a VERY big deal.
@@CrypticSilhouett Yeah but Shaman doesn't need the value through draw. Between Lackeys and all the discover stuff my hand is usually chock full all game. I got Warrior covered I just shoved an Archivist in my deck. :D
Right now my main problems are big summon mage and quest paladin. Started to experiment with Plague of Murlocs as a mass devolve. Not much else you can do when Pally starts cloning those eggs and dragon mech death rattles.
I found that you don’t need to include spells in quest shaman, between discover a spell lackeys, vulpera scoundrels and arcane dynamo. I generate my own win conditions and board clears. I would rather every single card in the deck generate value in some way than topdeck another hex when I need a minion. I find I tend to have a lot of boards filled with 1/1s and other low creatures so being able to consistently pull a bloodlust with arcane dynamo has won me many games without sacrificing deck-space with useless filler. Do not turn all your monsters into legendaries. Octowhatsit will destroy you by drawing your entire deck 😂. The hero power makes this possible, discovering additional spells and minions every turn is insane value.
You really have to be something special to think questing explorer is anything but amazing tbh.
I would replace the mc tech, you used it a grand total of one time in all of these games, including against aggro. Amazing deck otherwise!

Why does Trump think that building a value quest rogue isn't the right way to do it? I've had some experience with it and it's mediocre against aggro, but it pretty easily outvalues literally all decks in the late game(toss a togwaggle's scheme and combo with tess to make infinite board floods). It's not that slow either.

I think your version is actually too value heavy. I've been playing the mutate version with no hagatha or lynchen and I still have no trouble at all winning against control while being much better at stablizing the board.

This deck needs at least 1 lightning storm, imposible to win vs murloc paly without it
It's not an unwinnable matchup by any means, but it relies on some luck without it. Getting the quest completed by the time they drop the Tip the Scales lets you counter with hero power + Sandstorm Elemental to clear 80% of the board and then mop up with any minions you'd left on the board. Alternatively, getting some spell lackeys early on lets you discover aoe which has won me several matches against them. Lastly, hero power + 1 or 2 mind control techs can be a strong counter to Tip the Scales as well, once again mopping up with any leftover minions you had from their Prismatic Lens turn. Mogu Fleshshaper is also great to help mop up the Tip the Scales turns since he's a 0 mana play into that board.
So all in all, the lightning storm is a bit more reliable for clearing Tip the Scales, but as long as you can get an early quest completion you'll have several other options available. And winrates drastically improve if they don't get Prismatic Lens on 4. If Murloc Paladin becomes a huge deck in the meta, it might be worth teching the lightning storm, but until then I'm happy with my other options.
@@jeremiahschmidt6399 I agree 100%, the problem is when they get it on turn 5 and your quest is at 4 or 5, they still had board from past turns, thats why i think is not a bad keep for the deck
Usually I find if they're getting it on 5, I've got the board. They'd have had to cast Prismatic Lens on 4 which gives you time to gain tempo and take the board. That said, if you get a slow start and can't catch up then the lightning storm could certainly be a life saver.
I play Tip Pally, doubled Sandstorm fks me hard.

Anybody else feel like all decks are run with 5-6 legendaries this season and as a casual player its just not possible to get one top tier deck?
Last expansion token druid was tier one and unless you were present or had an account during the free snip-snap giveaway you had a very cheap tier one deck.
Yes I had the same feeling. I have 3 decks right now: Quest Rogue (only Tess required), Quest Priest (Can do with only quest and rares) and Quest Paladin (legendary spell, Tyrion which is classic i guess everybody has). Now I look at like highlander hunter or sandwich mage and it blows my mind the number of legendaries any good deck requirs.
Also I would like to recommand (if you don't have) replacing Siamat with 8 mana neutral 3/15 which kills smalls things multiple times. Less flexible but deals against aggro and that's the main concern because in value these control decks are just fine.

Yea, even aggro decks can have 3-4 leggos, 2-4 epics, and some rares in them nowadays. Before, you could run decks with 1-2 rares and nothing rarer. It's crazy.

That first priest played very poorly. He should not have blade master circle. Just blade master would have been fine. Quest shaman has very few ways to kill it t3. Wasting both circle like that is an easy way to lose.
