- A cab ride along the Chatham Main Line from Gillingham (Kent) to Bromley South. This was filmed in early morning before 0600, so there are no horns.
Please note this was also part of a longer journey, the next part of which will be the next upload.
Many thanks for another excellent video, ending at my old stomping ground in the Bickley / Bromley South area. I like the informative sub-titles.
I try to keep the captions informative, without distracting from the journey itself
Welcome back! Your videos give an entirely different perspective on cab views, and on lines rarely seen on YT at that. Thank you for your time and effort in producing these.
Thanks for the comments. The next is ready to upload, but I’ll give it a few days so people can enjoy this one
Medway, my old stomping ground, I used to live just up the road from Gillingham train station when i was a kid.
The amount of development around Rochester is staggering, i always remembered the Saturday market in the large car park you could look down on from the railway line. Sadly long gone
Great video Emmo, very nice journey, nice information as well, looking forward to the next video, thanks 👍😀👌
Love this, I've been looking for a north kent/ Medway towns cab ride for ages.
A nice calming video today. Just joined the channel yesterday. Will look forward to watching more! Cheers mates! 😊
Welcome to the channel. I try and post regularly, but occasionally there are gaps. The next video should be up in a few days
Excellent video - thanks for taking time to film.
Thanks for watching. I try to upload when I can with different routes
Another excellent video as always👍
Thank you. Next one going up hopefully this evening or tomorrow
love the video! glad to see you’re back
Next video is ready to upload, but I’ll give it a few days, so people have time to enjoy this one first
Good to see another video from you, looking forward to more in the future.
More to come! I have a short to upload imminently, and then there are two more full journeys currently recorded
This was good and nice tease for the next one at the end to do with the freight train just leaving the station.
Got to leave the viewers on a cliffhanger, so they come back next time! 😅
Welcome back! 😀
Thank you! 😁
Good to see you back uploading again!
Thank you. The next video is ready to upload, but I’ll give it a few days so people can enjoy this one first
If I was in that cab, I would have had to wedge a bit of cardboard in whatever is rattling !!! LOL
Well hello mate it’s been a long time since you put videos on here I love your videos they are really good
It has been a while. Filming in the winter is very hard due to so much darkness. Now the daylight hours are longer, I can get more filming
@@emmo999 yeah definitely mate we had a tamper working last night on our line in Yatton to Bristol at 1:00 in the morning
Ah, my 'home railway' (so to speak) for more than a quarter of a century now, so I am very familiar with most of this stretch of line, and beyond up to London.
It’s long been on my list, but I needed daylight and occasion to be out there
Good stuff. I'd no idea that Gillingham, Chatham and Rochester were effectively all one. Not that the locals see it that way, I'm sure...
Perhaps the LCDR thought that Horton Kirby sounds like it ought to be up north somewhere (as it certainly does)!
It certainly sounds more interesting than Farningham Road
@@emmo999In Kent in Southeastern of Academy, University and Grammar of This Travelling with Vehicles and Transport in Kent?
What happened to the stations before swanley as I come from gillingham
At 31.49, there is a platform on the left. Is that an old station? Thanks for the video!
I know exactly what you’re looking at. There has never been a station there, nor any carriage sidings. So I am at a loss as to what the structure is in the undergrowth. One to investigate!
@@emmo999 I think it might be the raised concrete conduits for cabling - def too low for platform/staff halt or the like?
Fab ❤
Thank you
I'm gonna Back Home by Southeastern and Vauxhall with my academy stuffs of southeastern, Forever?
No restrictions on train whistles here, safety comes first.
If there were people lineside, then the horn gets sounded, no matter what. Absolutely safety first
Why it produced screeched sound?
It is flange squeal on curves. All railway stock does it. Axles sit in fixed bogies dead straight. So when the track curves, the wheels and track squeal against each other
