Trains Passing On Bridge With DPUs, Crew Boards Train, Listen To Train Start Up! Old Signals In Use

  • Single Locomotive Pulls Big Train After Crew Boards. Listen To This! Trains Passing On Bridge With DPUs. Union Pacific Railroad, CSX & Norfolk Southern Railroad Locomotives. Includes historic Baltimore And Ohio Railroad color position signals still in use. These trains are in Cincinnati, Ohio in the Winton Place/Spring Grove Valley area.
    First we see a Norfolk Southern train running long hood forward, just like the old N&W days. The train stops just before the bridge to wait for a crew. This is how crews get to their trains. A private transport company delivered the crew and then the train took off. Listen to the awesome locomotive working hard with a long cut of cars.
    Next we see a huge train with DPUs come across the Mill Creek bridge and then stop. The old B&O signals in the distance are still in use. A good computer will be able to pick up the lights on them. Another train comes from the opposite direction and passes the train. Both trains have Rival power with Union Pacific locomotives and a CSX locomotive. Look how long that second train is!
    We also see an Indiana & Ohio Railway train at the end going over the bridge. You may have seen that train in one of my #shorts.
    Filmed Monday, April 24, 2023 in 1080p with 60fps. Thanks for watching!

      @@JawTooth Orange is for trainees. NS is pretty much the only railroad that differentiates between CTs and Conductors via vest color. Whenever you see someone in an orange vest on the NS it's a Conductor Trainee. Now if you see MOW with orange stripes on the helmet, that is also a trainee.

    The fellow in the lime colored vest is the conductor. The fellow in the orange vest with hard hat is the trainee. More than likely these men were relayed from the hind end of the train. First train must be a local since they have only one locomotive. Not like the old days when we had a hack on the hind end, head brakeman, rear brakeman (flagman), and conductor. Your videos are top notch!

    Good video, JT! Since no one got off the engine, I’m guessing
    that the guy in the orange vest was a trainee and the other guy

    he gave you a good look over as

    • @cp368productions2
      @cp368productions2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are a few possibilities, it could be the engineer pulled the train out of the yard to the signal and then the conductor and trainee got on there, it could be a higher up and a trainee joining the regular crew, or it could be the new crew got on and the old crew is just along for the ride.

  • @Whalebarf
    @Whalebarf ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Orange is for Conductor Trainees. Once you get marked up and become a proper Conductor you get your yellow vest. NS now has a thing where if you have less than 2 years seniority they want you to wear a specific vest that has orange ribbons on it for some reason.

    Got to get them to sort out the schedules for you there! 4 times in a fortnight you've had trains passing. The longer one there was 221 cars and 5 loco's as accurately counted as I could. Gets a gut to getting cross-eyed after a while! That's the longest consist I've seen yet. Last longest I saw was 212 cars and 6 loco's a while back now. Something else. That Coil Train gave it some rip on its own there too. I hope those folks find their doggies. Nice one Jaw Tooth. Cheers!

    Freight coming and going. Oddball car was the 89' flat with steel plate marked LBR Lowville & Beaver River. You lucked out with the one Freight passing as the flat cars and gondolas we're going by plus you doing the pacing. Quite a few new cars out there today everything from tank cars to autoracks plus two types of coil in. One special item were the new NS\AOK gons but later one came by as pure NS with small lettering next to it stating United States Steel and their emblem. They are getting 1500 new cars with supposedly thicker and stronger steel. Luckily the mega train was not doing the stop-and-go up at the grade Xings. Poor Brandy and Sophie had that look of a kid disappointed with their birthday gift. Antlers? Theyre not tasty at all! 😮

      Each initial and number helps the railroad keep track of their cars.
      The load limit and light weight always
      adds up to a certain number, depending on the size of the wheels
      and the structural capacity of the car body. Modern cars are gross weight
      of 263,000 lbs., 268,000 lbs., or
      286,000 lbs; with the 268,000 lbs.
      mainly being older covered hoppers. There are cars with higher capacity,
      but they are rare. There were some
      covered hoppers on the UP back in
      the 70’s and 80’s with 250,000 lbs. capacity with weight on rail of 315,000
      lbs; and of course your high capacity
      flat cars that are privately owned such
      as QTTX and KRL reporting marks.
      Someone with more knowledge than me can elaborate on the KRL cars
      being privately owned, but not having
      the X after their reporting marks!
