Ms Marvel made me cry 🥰cus I'm not even Pakistani but being able to relate so much more in a superhero movie was just amazing. Like we finally got acknowledged in this light ✨️ the feels 👏
In my view as a dumb white guy who grew up the minority kid in a South Asian community in Canada, this is fantastic. Muslims are finally getting not just representation but good representation. Technically speaking, True Lies was representation - just not the kind you’re looking for. It doesn’t have to be 100% authentic. It just has to be authentic enough and accessible enough that people can see people as people and once we get there, we can celebrate our differences. Yeah, it gets a bit too Disney Channel in parts with the love triangle, but that’s to be expected. If all this show does is get Muslims feet in the door so to speak so that decent representation becomes okay, then it’s done its job. There’s misrepresentation in a lot of movies and TV these days, but as long as it’s positive, sincere and respectful, that’s what you want to see. For me as a dumb white guy who grew up in British Columbia, it felt like home. I felt like I was on Kingsway in Vancouver or Scott Road in Surrey. I know India and Pakistan aren’t the same thing and Sikh and Muslim aren’t either, but it felt like home to me. I knew girls like Kamala Khan and her friend who wears the hijab. I now live on Vancouver Island and I am so frustrated. None of these white people can make a proper biryani!
I loved ‘Ms. Marvel’. It was so much fun! I was so excited to see Fawad on screen again. Iman Vellani killed it and I can’t believe this is her debut. Also, very cool and confident.
Some of her facial expressions reminded me of Anna Chlumsky in My Girl. She seemed like she’d been acting in movies for years. This is the kind of representation that Muslims need. Not just representation. Good representation. She’s like the kids I grew up with in Canada.
I was very happy that there was finally some Muslim representation, but they did not do justice with Muslim representation. They made it seem like Muslims are oppressed and unhappy. It was a very westernized view of what Islam is. For example, women were not mandated to come to the mosque and pray to make it easy for them, and for their safety and security. In today’s world, I have been to many mosques that have beautiful women’s sections and are well taken care of. Please highlight all aspects and not just the negative. Also, for people who do not understand why there is a segregation, it is to protect from evil. We are there to pray, not to lose focus or concentration, and mingle with the opposite gender. Also, the fact that she is easily able to fall in love with different boys, is not the best example of what a true Muslim girl Is like. We value modesty and distance from men we are not related to. Her support of the lesbian couple in front of the locker, the dancing at the wedding, sneaking out of the home in the middle of the night, etc are a few of the other examples of how westernized this concept was. If this was made to impress the western audience, you accomplished that! But you did not represent the complete truth of what a Muslim truly is. I am Indian and a Muslim and live in the US. That being said, there were things that I appreciate like the depiction of the struggle during the partition between india and Pakistan, the glimpses of Karachi, her father telling her that saving one life is a good deed equivalent to saving the whole of humanity, which is what we as Muslims believe in.
this tho, this is exactly my view on it. I was cringing so bad at those lovey dovey parts I wanted to puke lol, like I was not really expecting it bcuz obviously I mean this was supposed to be a Muslim?? Pakistani?? women? ykn so those things in that exact combo too lol really really matter
I just found this channel and as a Muslim woman, I feel very seen. I was scrolling through videos and I got so excited when I saw this one. Ms. Marvel is my favorite superhero!
I agree with this but it always annoys me when women complain about the mosque. I am a woman too. Technically we are not required to pray in the mosque and its preferable to pray in the house. So if you decide to go I believe less women show up hence our spaces are smaller. The kids however should be in the men’s side fr fr💀💀 Men have to attend atleast weekly hence it makes sense for their side to be more renovated.
i watched the first few episodes of ms marvel and bro it was so cringe, like if your gonna represent Muslims at least do it properly. like ms marvel was tryna commit every sin speed run.
OMG Finally like Khoutba from iMAM to peopl and Woman assiting near mens in same room, mixity and MsMarvel Critisize the iMAM, there is no such thing in islam, that show is a big insult to islam & Muslims Community i stopped watching after 2nd episode.
@@nousername7509 okay? Muslims can still do this and repent and im not a hijabi but i believe in allah and prophet muhammad you know that doesn’t make us any less muslim than you
About the sisters' section, its because women are not REQUIRED to pray at a mosque, men are. Sisters get BONUS points for praying in a mosque, we get regular points, especially for Friday. We literally can not pray Juma prayers at home at all, it wold be Zuhar if we do. Its not fair but this is why mosques prioritize the men's side. That said, as a progressive Muslim I know mullahs can exploit this kind of stuff and justify horrible things.
the kids in the show are basically young Muslims with a heavy liberal influence 💯; with a lot of clichés about the relationships between men and women in the community
I don't see how anyone could support a religion that has separate areas for men and women in a place of worship. That would deeply offend me as a woman, but would also offend me as the husband to my wife being treated that way. But everyone just accepts it because someone came up with the rules 1400 years ago.
@@Uberstauffer But it dosent have to fit with modern society we will follow what we want and you can with yours but there are reasons that there are seprate sections.
You see the problem with a lot of people in the modern world is that they're so self centered, they complain about others' intolerance while not even being tolerant themselves... Just look at things from a different point of view and you'll understand

Why play india songs 😂😂😂🤭🤭🤭
They nailed many things accurately. But, some things like the wedding scenes were just both Hollywood-ised and Bollywood-ised.
Idk as a Pakistani, the wedding was overall pretty accurate to most American Desi weddings I go to, just staged & edited more like a film tho

It hurt something when they highlighted the sister sections, it's very narrow and at the very corner or basement or storage.

I think the writing was fresh but also the love interests were so well cast. They’re very cute.
I found them very Disney Channel. But that’s okay. Iman Vellani is terrific and Canadian.
No.

Finally, all I have been seeing is brain dead statements.
