This is the realest MCU character yet. Most actors in the MCU had no idea about this world and just took the roles as a job in the first place. But Iman is really a Marvel mega fan, she is legit, no one deserves to be part of the MCU more than her, she’s literally Kamala.

It is Sanskrit and means lotus (a hindu symbol), which is why I've never met a muslim Kamala. It's offensive because it's as if they carelessly threw either the hindu name or the muslim 'attribute' onto this character because this is just "what sells". They didn't care enough...simply googling the name would have been enough to know what I just told you. Why is it so hard to google something in the age of the internet?
They may have used 'kamala' to show her south asian origins. And is it mandatory for muslims to have arabic names? I think it's not. See the names of many indonesians, arabic names are used in only some clans, while sanskrit derived names are widely popular. As someone with no familiarity with Kamala Ms. Marvel I originally had no intention of watching the show. But I'm glad I gave it a chance. The art direction is creative, the visuals are stunning, the cast is charming, the musical score is amazing, and I personally was introduced to a part of world history I wasn't familiar with. It's unfortunate alot of people are not giving it a chance because having a brown, Muslim, female teenage hero is "woke leftist trash".
As far as charisma goes… she's got all of that! It isn't hard to understand their choice in choosing her… and I know she will never make them regret it.

They legitimately did some seriously DIFFICULT and IMPRESSIVE stuff in this. Im still trying to figure out how they did that "jumping out of the window" shot, in Kamala´s imagination (Im pretty sure it transitions from a stunt double, to a CG body, and then to the real actress... But if that´s the case, it´s the BEST CG transition that has EVER been put on film). And that´s just one example out of MANY.
I love how unintimidated she is. And it is so amazing how she has a natural ability to transition from personal talk with Trevor to including the audience. It seems like she grew up doing public interviews, but actually she has no experience at all. It is going to be great to see where she goes with this.

Vellani is SO adorable. Confident, thoughtful, and obviously capable of handling herself. Noah interviewing her is a plus because he understands how it is to be a POC and in a new country, culture shocks and all. Watched the first episode and she is perfect casting. Kamala is one of my favorite comic book superheroes. She's adorable. She's everyone's kid sister. You can't help but root for her. And Iman just brings her to life. Like she leapt off the page. I can't wait to see the rest of the series.

Vellani is SO adorable. Confident, thoughtful, and obviously capable of handling herself. Noah interviewing her is a plus because he understands how it is to be a POC and in a new country, culture shocks and all. That gave the conversation room to breathe past the fish out of water/oh, aren't you peculiar zone.

Watched the first episode and she is perfect casting. Kamala is one of my favorite comic book superheroes. She's adorable. She's everyone's kid sister. You can't help but root for her. And Iman just brings her to life. Like she leapt off the page. I can't wait to see the rest of the series.
