I just finished fixing my Pilot about ten minutes ago. It took me about twenty minutes to complete and that was largely just from finessing the plastic cover off and about ten minutes trying to get my hands behind the paneling to disconnect the engine button. Next time I’m getting my kids to fix this. They have small hands.
@thousanddollarcarguy heck ya man. I'm Def subscribing! Going to be doing my mom's crv ignition in a couple hrs. Not a fan of the push button crap myself. I still like 5 speeds !
@kippersjc13 I would recommend ordering it and getting it delivered where your going. Or getting it before you go. But only install it after it goes out. I replaced mine after months of waiting. And then about a month after I replaced it the error came back. But it's been running since. So who knows
Interesting. I have a 2009 Acura TL and I ordered a push button switch and I can't find anything anywhere on how to change it out. Looks like this may help me as I can't afford to pay to have it replaced.
It may not be "exactly" like mine. But I bet it's very very close. Turns out thus button is used in basically every honda of my year. So that tells me they don't like to change things unless they have to across the board. Best of luck to you in your situation
@@thousanddollarcarguy I wanted to thank you for this video. I was able to remove the interior panel holding the push-button switch on my TL without breaking anything! I used some plastic slider tools from a tool set I picked up to work on cell phones and other smaller electronics. I took some pics and I'm making a video on my fix and how the panel comes out and back in. I'll share when I'm done. I changed out the battery last week and got the car back home, but now when I hook up the battery I lose all electric power on the car after trying the switch. Some forums and a Scotty Kilmer video indicated it's probably the switch.
It actually ended up being the battery. If you can check out the date on your battery i would take a look at that. Here in florida our car batteries only last about 3 years. I have other info but unless you need to know more about the battery ill leave it at that
Just fixed my 2017 Ridgeline. took 10 minutes and the " Keyless remote system problem" warning is gone. Thanks for the video
Just fixed our pilot...it literally took me less than 3 minutes thanks to this video.
I appreciate the kind words. And am glad i was able to help
Great anti theft video thank you 🙏🏻

How do you remove the top part to replace the cluster?
Does the new Start/stop button need to be programmed or will it work out of the box? Thanks!
Mine did not need to he programmed. I believe it's the same start button used across the board with Hondas of that generation
Thank you so much for the quick reply! I'm leaving on a road trip Friday and just started getting this error today.

Will the key fob work ok with the new start stop switch or will it have to be reprogrammed?
@@emilymay674 ours worked without an issue

How do you rest the key fob?
Nice.
Thank you for the tutorial. They wanna charge $1000 at the dealership to change out.
That's insane. Hope your install goes smoothly
