- Midday drive from Downtown Cape Town along the Atlantic coast of South Africa to Chapmans Peak. This is a very similar drive along the west coast of the USA along the California coastline. A mix of Malibu and Big Sur but on another continent! Checking off a few important boxes with this video! Rain, 60 FPS, HDR (better color, better luminance).

If people are impressed by Cape Town with this overcast weather, I can only imagine during clear blue skies. A breath taking city with all the mountains surrounding it, beautiful beaches and the infrastructure. Amazing ❤️

This is one tiny tiny tiny developed corner of a very undeveloped continent.
I would wish the continent more places like this. But even driving behind the Table Mountain , you will see the slums of Cape Town. Camps Bay and Hout Bay are not the slightest way representative for Africa rather than surreal shadows of the colonial past.
That's the western perspective of Africa. We are aware of how rich Africa is to the point where if somebody remotely mentions Africa, I ask them which part of Africa.

South Africa is so dramatically different and much more developed than the other African countries to the north
North have that old type of architecture but some countries like Egypt have just decided to build a whole new modern city with everything almost different from Cairo
It wasn't always like that. There used to be many modern cities throughout Southern Africa, Luanda, Salsbury, Lourenço Marques, Beira were all fantastic world class cities before they were taken over by the various terrorists.

Cape Town is famous for it's very unpredictable weather. Cloudy and windy one morning then sunny and less windy in the afternoon.

There is an even better road from Gordon's Bay to Kleinmond called Clarence Marine drive aka R44. It is longer, higher, wider views and way less developed.
