It was a sitcom about a family of eccentric billionares with 4th wall breaking tendencies being knocked down a peg, and the main character, who's the only straight man out of the bunch being forced to revitalize the family business and help the family. In one scene from ep 1x02, the main character Michael Bluth finds a bag labeled "Dead Dove; Don't Eat" in his fridge, opens the bag, and then looks away with a disgusted expression saying "i don't know what I was expecting." The use of the tag is a reference to this scene. If you see a bag marked dead dove, you should not expect a cake of a dead dove, you should expect a literal dead dove. So if you see a fic tagged with "Abuse", you should expect abuse, not a deconstruction of how abuse affects people. Some people will do the latter, but you shouldn't count on it unless they say that's what they're going to do. People didn't understand, so one person came up with the DD;DE tag, and things went from there.

My friend, my brother, and I were all fans of Gravity Falls in college. So, one day my friend decided to read this fic to me (funny enough, I think I was relatively new to fanfiction at the time). I just sat there in disgust when my brother came by. My friend started reading the story from the beginning and once it started going bad, my brother was like, "Okay, let's do something else." I just sat there in amazement: It didn't even occur to me to tell him to stop reading. Long story short, I never actually read the whole thing and I'm fine with that.

Of all the heinous shock-value fanfics out there "Dipper Goes To Taco Bell" is in a class all its own. It outdoes "Cloud Mows The Lawn" in its capacity to disgust you and totally eclipses most of the infamous MLP fanfics like "Cupcakes" and "Rainbow Factory." I regret even quickly skimming through the damned thing out of morbid curiosity. Its basically the aristocrats joke of the _Gravity Falls_ fandom and we regret it ever saw the light of day.

NOOOOOOO, I remember so VIVIDLY my youth in the Gravity Falls fandom. I recall nestling in my bed for the night, eager to browse the variety of fanfics available to me. The Naruto fandom had already exposed me to all that is saucy (thank you Orochimaru specifically), so I was no stranger to written evils. You can insert a droning commentary here about the youth having their minds rotted by fanfiction, but I digress. I saw the ratings. I saw the warnings. I did not heed them. Like a Lovecraftian protagonist, I did not listen to my gut feeling and proceeded towards the Elder’s Call. My sight was ruined and my mind was blasted by visions of Taco Bell induced mania. It was the very first instance in which a fanfic had shattered what sense of psyche I had at that time. I went to sleep that night restless and wondering just one word. “Why?” I remember. I remember it well. Do not read Dipper Goes To Taco Bell.
I never was part of the dipper goes to Taco Bell side of tumblr but I did read the milk fic, the hat fic, puppies and steamrollers, the cherry fic, the skin fic so I remember the horror tbf I’ve never found them that disturbing just cringey and gross but I don’t know maybe it’s cause I always felt it was pretty clear it was a joke I found them funny rather than scarring (On a side note I talked to my partner about this who always finds it hilarious that I can read fics like this with a straight face and be unbothered but will have weeks of nightmares from the most un-scary comedic horror movies like I have to stop watching hot fuzz cause I was getting to creeped out but I read dead doves for fun)

I am an avid fan of Gravity Falls, and I've never heard of this fic until now. Given what I've heard, I'm glad I didn't find it on my own volition. All I can say is that I am beyond concerned for the person who wrote this and for everyone that's read it.
So Dipper goes to Taco Bell is the fanfiction version of Boku no Piko when recommended. You recommend it to hurt and traumatize the person who's bothering you and it has reached meme status.
the closest I've read to "dipper goes to tacobell" is "cloud mows the lawn" which has a similar, unassuming title, but the content of the fic is vile. It doesn't involve gore, though.
I think this specific genre of crackfics are something people should be careful when recommending as a joke, since you don't know if it could just make them feel physically ill or straight up make them have a panic attack purely because of how disturbing they are. This was a really entertaining video! Love the way you summarize the stories and explain the context in which they are written! Idk if you know this one, but maybe you could make a video like this on Passerine? It's a good fic in my opinion!
These type of fanfics always remind me of those dark and gorey fanfics that the my little pony fandom has ( Cupcakes for example). Younger me was scarred by those. Maybe that could be an intetesting topic?

Okay, I was on Tumblr during that period of people joking about this fic, but I never read it. I refuse to find out what actually happened in it, I skipped the summary section of the video, but I do remember seeing some kind of vague description back then that just involved the kids getting brutally murdered in a taco bell bathroom, only to be told years later that wasn't all it was or something, so I don't want to actually know. 😰

I think it speaks a lot that I wasn't even shocked about this fic. Because I have, accidentally of course, read similar content, except it was not tagged properly and the author seemed to think it wasn't crack or a shockfic, but something completely normal and sexy. That's what really, really scarred me for life.
Same, I've stumbled across actual pedo fics. They were way worse than this Taco Bell fic because they seemed to take themselves seriously, as if they were any other run-of-the-mill smut/shipping fic. I think "Shock Fic" should be a category, but the twist is. It can only have one tag which is "Shock Fic". So people that read it won't know what it contain. A risky take is what make thing fun

It really is the wackiest thing I have ever read. It's incredible how someone can think of this insanely cursed premise and actually write it out like that. Man I have never read Dipper goes to Taco Bell in full but I heard a "dramatic reading" of it and... it was something. I cringed the whole time and it reminded me of a SU (Steven Universe) fanfic i stumbled across one time where somehow Pearl never washed "down there" (because they're gems, why would they need to) and the details were really gross/graphic and Amethyst/Garnet ended up scrubbing her really violently and it was not pleasant. Will scar me, for sure. Both fics are pure shock content and I'll never look back
This fic is similar to "the game" for me and a few of my friends. In middle school, a friend of mine had me read it out loud over a Skype call so he could get my reaction and needless to say, I was horrified😭 The shock factor is long gone now, but boy does it kick me in the shins when I'm reminded of the fic lmao

Of all the heinous shock-value fanfics out there "Dipper Goes To Taco Bell" is in a class all its own. It outdoes "Cloud Mows The Lawn" in its capacity to disgust you and totally eclipses most of the infamous MLP fanfics like "Cupcakes" and "Rainbow Factory." I regret even quickly skimming through the damned thing out of morbid curiosity.
Its basically the aristocrats joke of the _Gravity Falls_ fandom and we regret it ever saw the light of day.

NOOOOOOO, I remember so VIVIDLY my youth in the Gravity Falls fandom. I recall nestling in my bed for the night, eager to browse the variety of fanfics available to me. The Naruto fandom had already exposed me to all that is saucy (thank you Orochimaru specifically), so I was no stranger to written evils. You can insert a droning commentary here about the youth having their minds rotted by fanfiction, but I digress.
I saw the ratings. I saw the warnings. I did not heed them. Like a Lovecraftian protagonist, I did not listen to my gut feeling and proceeded towards the Elder’s Call. My sight was ruined and my mind was blasted by visions of Taco Bell induced mania. It was the very first instance in which a fanfic had shattered what sense of psyche I had at that time. I went to sleep that night restless and wondering just one word. “Why?”

I never was part of the dipper goes to Taco Bell side of tumblr but I did read the milk fic, the hat fic, puppies and steamrollers, the cherry fic, the skin fic so I remember the horror tbf I’ve never found them that disturbing just cringey and gross but I don’t know maybe it’s cause I always felt it was pretty clear it was a joke I found them funny rather than scarring
(On a side note I talked to my partner about this who always finds it hilarious that I can read fics like this with a straight face and be unbothered but will have weeks of nightmares from the most un-scary comedic horror movies like I have to stop watching hot fuzz cause I was getting to creeped out but I read dead doves for fun)

I am an avid fan of Gravity Falls, and I've never heard of this fic until now. Given what I've heard, I'm glad I didn't find it on my own volition. All I can say is that I am beyond concerned for the person who wrote this and for everyone that's read it.
So Dipper goes to Taco Bell is the fanfiction version of Boku no Piko when recommended. You recommend it to hurt and traumatize the person who's bothering you and it has reached meme status.

the closest I've read to "dipper goes to tacobell" is "cloud mows the lawn" which has a similar, unassuming title, but the content of the fic is vile. It doesn't involve gore, though.
I think this specific genre of crackfics are something people should be careful when recommending as a joke, since you don't know if it could just make them feel physically ill or straight up make them have a panic attack purely because of how disturbing they are.
This was a really entertaining video! Love the way you summarize the stories and explain the context in which they are written! Idk if you know this one, but maybe you could make a video like this on Passerine? It's a good fic in my opinion!
These type of fanfics always remind me of those dark and gorey fanfics that the my little pony fandom has ( Cupcakes for example). Younger me was scarred by those. Maybe that could be an intetesting topic?

I remember reading this fic a long time ago and the only part I remembered is that Dipper went to taco bell and ate a “mystery meat” taco and got instant food poisoning and had explosive diarrhea. I completely forgot the rest of the story where he and Mabel did the nasty before dying/being murdered and got turned into tacos. 😭

I think it speaks a lot that I wasn't even shocked about this fic. Because I have, accidentally of course, read similar content, except it was not tagged properly and the author seemed to think it wasn't crack or a shockfic, but something completely normal and sexy.
That's what really, really scarred me for life.
Same, I've stumbled across actual pedo fics. They were way worse than this Taco Bell fic because they seemed to take themselves seriously, as if they were any other run-of-the-mill smut/shipping fic. In one case I only saw the summary and a few of the tags as I scrolled down the page but it was bad enough that I could picture it vividly and I hate that 💀

Not everyone's cup of tea (especially because of the fandom it's in), but there's a fic in the MCYT fandom called Passerine that's incredibly well-written. Note: It's pretty long but you almost forget it's about MCYT entirely when reading it.

I saw the thumbnail and immediately knew exactly what this was about. I have read the story once when I was younger (12 or 13 maybe?) and another time a few months ago. It really is the wackiest thing I have ever read. It's incredible how someone can think of this insanely cursed premise and actually write it out like that. It was so bizarre I couldn't even feel sick while reading it

Man I have never read Dipper goes to Taco Bell in full but I heard a "dramatic reading" of it and... it was something. I cringed the whole time and it reminded me of a SU (Steven Universe) fanfic i stumbled across one time where somehow Pearl never washed "down there" (because they're gems, why would they need to) and the details were really gross/graphic and Amethyst/Garnet ended up scrubbing her really violently and it was not pleasant. Will scar me, for sure. Both fics are pure shock content and I'll never look back
This fic is similar to "the game" for me and a few of my friends. In middle school, a friend of mine had me read it out loud over a Skype call so he could get my reaction and needless to say, I was horrified😭 The shock factor is long gone now, but boy does it kick me in the shins when I'm reminded of the fic lmao
