I have this phone. It is absolutely worth it. You can't buy a flip phone and expect it to do all the things a fully capable smartphone can do. This phone is perfect for people who are looking for a dumbphone but slightly smarter.
@@murtalamumuni1771yeah I couldn’t finish this review. He’s literally finding tiny cons that really don’t amount to anything. And he starts off with “security” issues but never actually goes into that, he just starts talking about it being glitchy. For $70 or less I will definitely be buying it.
I got this phone to run a 128GB memory card, use little battery power, and, do anything a regular smartphone an do. Spilled boiling hot lipton tea on it by accident. Washed it in a bowl of water. With some software tweaks, this phone is a beast. I've used it with youtube, social media, call of duty, it works smooth. My dog even chewed it up. Screen didnt even scratch or crack. Just the housing with bite marks. It's worth buying. I plan to buy a second one. So I can custom firmware the first, fiddle with it and probably create apps for it. Also, it has a barometer. That's super accurate.
So the tiny 16 GB is not a issue because ya got this phone to run a 128GB memory card? I heard that the card will not manage al apps but u disagree etc ?
@@marthy995 I've loaded over 40GBs of Music, Have 20GBs of Videos, about 6Gbs in pictures. Apps, ran me over 10GBs. I saw on a reddit post, surpassing over 10GB of usage on the internal memory will cause the phone to go crazy. Never happened to me. So far I've loaded alot of apps, on the internal and external. Internal usage is 9GBs. One thing I did, was debloated the phone, and tweaked the settings in developer options to increase free ram and processor speed, thus speeding up the phone. I'm tring to aquire another Cat S22 to run linux. And mod it to my liking. Or maybe just degoogle it. It did run call of duty, mortal kombat, and asphalt. Pretty neat device.
@@marthy995 by the way, I'm using a SanDisk Ultra 128GB MicroSD XC1.Class ten. Its half white and grey. The white part has "SanDisk Ultra" in red. The lower part is grey with the Size and class in white.
Wow, you had serious battery problems? Did you turn stuff off? Turn off wifi when on the road. Turn off bluetooth, if you have it. Turn off Google's new streams, turn off most location functions, and also, do a settings search and turn off printer. All these things are constantly on, constantly searching for connections- and killing your battery. It doesn't matter how little you use the phone- this stuff is always on. After turning off all those running apps my battery lasts up to 4 days, and it never overheats. And no, I am having no problems hearing the folks I talk to.
I only got this phone to be a phone, that's it, call text and you know podcast music that's it audiobooks if possible yeah and of course anything relating to only being a phone with no socials
@@warkal868 I heard like 3 revivers say that at least some apps are just running on the hard drive & can not function on the card in the phone as an compatible expansion space etc. But perhaps it has to be exactly that specifik card? Anyway I'm rocking my Unihearts fully physical keyboard-smartphone but was interesting if that cat flip would work.
@@marthy995 using the and t9 app. works great. Apps ran on the internal and external memory with zro problems. The SD card i bought was a random one. So i dont know if it gotta be specific.
Does anyone know if there is a way to install custom firmware or something? Like many of you, I bought this phone to get away from the idea of a "Smart Phone". But it does not seem worth it because of the security issue.
CAT will not be doing security updates anymore because the CAT company cellphone division has been eradicated. No more CAT phones at all.
Oh nooo 😮
True but the playstore updates alone will be able to make it usable for a couple of years.
Sunbeam flip phones are better.

How do you turn the phone on like get minutes ?
You buy a sim with data like every other phone. I dont think companies do minutes anymore.
