Thank you! The snow looks pretty sparse. We need more moisture for sure. 😢
Such a clear, beautiful video! Does Pima Canyon show up in the beginning of the video at all? Thank you ❤
@cathrynory8854 thanks. Yes, the camera was filming the whole time, so Pima Canyon should have been in the video, but didn't make the cut. 😊
@@cathrynory8854 I'll have a look later and put a link here if the canyon is shown well.
@@jimhefner Thank you! Pima Canyon is my favorite hike.
Sorry, since I was planning to fly north along the Catalinas, I wasn't far enough east to see back in Pima Canyon in video. th-cam.com/video/736e3E8r5b8/w-d-xo.html I have other videos where I was descending through Pima Canyon, so that's probably as good as I can do, since that is designated as a wilderness area on the aviation charts and I'm supposed to stay at least 2000' above the ground.
@@jimhefner No problem. Wishing you safe and happy flights in the future ❤
Nice video. Out of curiosity, how much would a flight like that cost these days, fuel wise?
@jakeweston8616 thanks. The flight was 1 hr 3 mins air time plus taxi time and burned 9.4 gallons. Fuel price varies between $5 to $6.50 / gal. I pay $5.75 at the airpark, so around $54 for that flight. Fuel is the least expensive part of owning a plane. Hangar, airpark fees, insurance and maintenance are the expensive parts of owning a plane. For me it is $500/mo, whether I fly or not, so that is where it gets expensive! I fly around 9-10 hrs a month, so add $50 to the $54 and it cost me $104. I hope that helps.
To put that in perspective.... renting a slow Cessna with pilot at Marana was $225 /hr last time I checked. I flew 172 miles on that 1 hr flight, per FlightAware... a good Cessna 172 might go 125 miles in an hour. 😊
Do you still have the video of you flying over Aravaipa Canyon wilderness? I can't find anywhere in you're channel.
@MarkLost-dq7eo yes, I'm sure I still have it. I move older videos from Public to unlisted, so there aren't too many videos. I'll look it up and put a link here so you can view it later after I'm home. 👍
@@jimhefner Ok thanx.
Looks like I took that one off YT. I found it on my hard drive and uploaded it after shortening it quite a bit. I hope this is what you were looking for. It was from Dec 2021. th-cam.com/video/GCQHotbfsos/w-d-xo.html
@@jimhefner That is the one. I was telling my friends at work about going to Aravaipa canyon to hike but I couldn't find you're video to show them what it look like up there. My friends have never heard of this place and you're video captures it to a "t". thx for uploading and keep the videos coming. I am big fan. thx alot.
@MarkLost-dq7eo I'm glad that was the video you were looking for 🙏 Glad to help. 👍
