  • This DIY Tumbler Turner will cost you less than $30. It’s super easy to make and you could get it done in a couple of hours! I used ¾ inch plywood from the hardware store but any scraps you have could probably work! You can also adapt the sizes to meet your needs or even make a 3 or 4 cup turner! The PVC Pipe that I used was 3/4 inch and I glued it to the turner with E6000 glue.
    I chose to go with the kit because at this moment in time it was the easiest thing I could do. You can find all the caps and screws to use 3/4 inch pvc pipe. Here are the motors without caps and arms: amzn.to/30jN527

      Hey, the motor with the screw that keeps coming loose is turning the opposite direction of the other motor. If you change the orientation of the wires on the back of the motor, then it should turn the other way... which may stop the screw from loosening. Hope this helps!

    You should be able to replace the pvc cap and pvc arms with standard size pvc. Also try a little loctite on that screw.

    Thank you for sharing this tutorial. It’s been the most simplest I’ve ever seen on making a cup turner. Definitely something doable.

    You can use a cap of the size of pvc and drill a hole and use an M5 screw to attach the cap to the motor.

    Great tutorial...I know you're in the U.S. and we have different amazon and stuff from you....but just linking stuff makes it easier for me to find it here. I've never done a tumbler turner but I'm interested to make my own.
    Thank you so much! LOVED the entire video. Cheers :)

    I figured out the cap problem not fitting 1/2” pvc pipe. I bought 1/2” caps from Home Depot. I drilled a hole in the center to fit in the end. Now I can use 1/2” pvc pipe.

    The screw that keeps coming loose, I would recommend Threadlock. Cheap bottle of blue stuff that will hold the threads in place. its the reason that Store bought products are so difficult to take apart.

    The blue caps that the wands connect into can probably be replaced with pvc caps that are threaded. I did that with the turner bought from amazon so I could make it extra wands to change out.

    What were the measurements you used to drill out the holes with the spade bits?

  • @douglashersom5128
    @douglashersom5128 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does the screw you tightened with the wrench and screwdriver you said kept coming loose hold the piece that the tube slips into? If so you could use a piece of half inch or 3/4 inch PVC and end caps for replacement rods.. just drill a hole in the center of a cap and the PVC pipe will slide right into it.

    I suggest you put a lock washer to prevent the screws from coming off.

    Personal opinion…I watched the video on the globeous and was holding out to buy that…however I would like a mult spinner (I just planned on buying more globeous singles)….what do you think? I know there were several reasons you liked the globeous…space, 2 way direction spin, etc

  • @carolhorne4981

    You could put lock tight on screw and it would not keep coming loose

    Hi Alison, Hello from the UK , yours is not the first tumbler turner channel that have made this request ,that said, @4:09 , I have purchased this same motor ( AC 100 -127v ) I'm a wood turner and I need to make a motorized turntable , with said motor , wired it up left it running while I found the grub screws and Allen wrench got back it was over heating , it was rather hot , the problem maybe the voltage (UK mains electric runs on 240 volts ), any help would be appreciated,,. Stay safe,. Regards Alf

    I'm pretty sure that motor can spin either way.. you may be able to grab the arm and switch the direction to keep the screw from unscrewing

    • @AlisonCrafts
      @AlisonCrafts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has been helping to only have it spin towards the right so the screw doesn't get loose while spinning!

    The side that comes loose is reversed polarity .it spins the opposite direction so it comes off.simply switch the wires around on that motor....
