🌙 ABOUT ME 🌙
Hi! My name is Alice and I love books! I read just about everything from classics to contemporary fiction, adventures to mysteries, fantasy to all kinds of non-fiction - and I love reviewing and recommending books, and just generally having a chat about literature. I also adore baking, hot chocolate, crafts and basically everything cosy, soft and peaceful. I currently live in Oslo, Norway.

So many books and so little time. The problem with watching other book tubers channels is that it only increases the tbr! Happy reading to you and best wishes to your channel.
P.S. A few of my best reads were; The Nightingale by Kristen Hannah, The Lighthouse Keepers Daughter by Hazel Gaynor (any bk. by her) and The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson and Winter Solstice by Rosamunde Pilcher was my absolute fave bk. I read in 2023!
I'm currently reading Miss Benson's Beetle because of your review. I'm loving it. Good plot.
Love that!! 😍
2019 feels like 10 years ago for me 😓😭
Same 🫠😅
Wha... I can't believe the Anna Karenina video was 5 years ago. I'm absolutely crushed by this 🫠.
But it's nice to realize that I've been enjoying your videos for so long!
I know, right?? 🥲🫠 thank you for sticking around! 🥰
Hi, Alice,
I just wanna tell you that you keep me and my friend company while we work. Your vides are great, you're so soothing and pleasant to listen to. So thank you
Wow, thank you! This really makes my day 🥰 Say hello to your friend for me!
I really want to look back through my notebooks and see what my favorites of these years have been. Some of these books I’ve read, many more I want to read. I do know The Secret History and If We Were Villains are going to be on my recap for 2022 and 2023 respectively.
Love both of those 😍
This was fun! I’ve read so many good books because of you (They Were Sisters, Miss Benson’s Beetle, etc) so thank you so much! I love your thoughts on books. Also, your blouse is so pretty!!
Aaah this makes me so happy!! 🥰❤️ Thank you!!
Omg yes, Song of Achilles 😭
I know 😭 I’ll never get over it!
Thank you Alice !
Great books!
I’m so glad I came across your channel ❤ I also love the books you mentioned. My favorite are Nightingale, love and other words and currently reading/loving starless sea.
I love to have you here ❤️
I haven't read Kindred but I did read The Time Traveler's Wife. (A man drifts back and worth through time.)
❤📚 Loved your reviews. Many of these were also favorites of mine. I have Hamnet on my shelves, but I still need to read.
I did add This Green and Pleasant Land, and They Were Sister to my "want to read " list!
Thank you! 🥰🥰
OMG, you influenced me a lot i guess. I bought a lot of these books because of you (and really liked every book that I have read so far).
That's awesome! 🥰
I just finished The Salt Path which you showed last week. It was interesting 😃
Love that! 😍
Alice, you need to read "The murmur of bees" by Sofia Segovia, translated from Spanish. The story is set in Mexico in the early 20th century amidst the deadly Spanish flu pandemic. It has such a spring-summer vibe, I think you're gonna like it! 💛🐝
Thank you for the recommendation, I’ll add it to my TBR! 😃
Great video, Alice! I have Emily Wilde sitting on my shelf- I plan to get to it soon! My favorites: Hamnet by O'Farrell, Florida by Groff, Fangirl by Rowell, Stories of Your Life by Chiang, The Overstory by Powers, Miss Benson's Beetle by Joyce, A Gentleman in Moscow by Towles, The Secret History by Tartt, Nothing to See Here by Wilson, If We Were Villains by Rio, Tom Lake by Patchett, and Ninth House by Bardugo. Favorite series (can't pick one because the whole thing is so good): Empire of the Wolf by Swan, The Expanse by Corey, and Red Rising by Brown. My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE BOOK of the past 5 years would be Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin- OH PLEASE try it, I think you'll love it too.
Thank you! 🥰 and thank you for the recommendation, I’ll add it to my TBR! ❤️
Hi Alice! You do such GREAT reviews, really good. I have 4 of the bks. you mentioned waiting to be read. Problem is my eyes are too big when it comes to books. I might get sidetracked at the library, buy a new/ used one, read that, get sick, have A surgery, UGH! Right now I am reading Where The Crawdads Sing. Just started it today. I kept putting it off because I HATE swamps! Just abhor them. My friend who recommended it to me told me to "get on with it, it is much more than that!" So I did. Have been aching to read Emilie Wildes... but misplaced it for months when they remodeled my apt. and had to move out for a week! I didn't misplace it the MOVERS did! They didn't speak english!!!!😑 So!
Thank you! ❤️ Hope you find the Emily Wilde book!
Some of my favorite books for the last five years: The Winternight Trilogy by Katherine Arden, Circe by Madeline Miller, Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik, Pomegranate Soup by Marsha Mehran(which was a re-read), The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune, Sweet Bean Paste by Durien Sukagawa, The Kite Runner by Khalid Hosseini, The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill, The Queen's Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner, Nettle and Bone by T Kingfisher, The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna, Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett, and The Last Tale of the Flower Bride by Roshani Chokshi
Amazing! 😍 I see we love some of the same books as well!
If you have not seen the TV series And then there were none,I highly recommend it if you are able to watch it. It was a great adaptation, all moody and beautiful!
Do you have a video of a tour of your bookshelves? Your home looks beautiful what I can see of it hahaha
Thank you! I have a bookshelf tour but it’s from years and years ago 🥰
💕💕
This video was a lot of fun to watch and I want to check out some more books now ^^
I also loved Garlic and the Vampire❣Such a sweet story and perfect for autumn.
However, I was kind of bored by Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries. I think the main problem was that I did not care enough about the main characters :/
My list of favourites would be too long, but some of the best books were:
Clockwork Princess, Chain of Gold, Chain of Iron by Cassandra Clare
The Illuminae Files by Kaufman and Kristoff
His dark materials trilogy by Philip Pullman
Lonely Castle in the Mirror
and almost all of Alice Oseman's work
Yay, I’m glad you liked it! 🥰
Have u read Cottage by The Sea by Debbie Macomber it’s so good I could read it again
I loved Miss Benson’s Beetle so much. I wasn’t able to put it down at all. I hope to find more books like this. Please do recommend if you know any 😊❤
Me too! I don’t have anything else similar to recommend, but if I find it, I will! ❤️

Nothing wrong with you ❤️ Although I loved it, I also see it’s not for everyone 🥰
My dad died during the pandemic in 2020. Some days it feels like yesterday, some days it feels like 20 years ago. It's all a fog to be honest.
