WAIT! WAIT! WAIT! WAIT! WAIT!!! Sazz left that message the day she died; however, the trio didn't know about the movie until the following day or so... HOW DID SAZZ KNOW PRIOR TO OUR TRIO KNOWING!?!?
This gives the theory that this is Sazz's script much more credibility!!!
Some thoughts:
Last season, Ben was poisoned by rat poison. This season, his double is seeing rats.
First show of this season, Charles falls asleep watching a movie. When he wakes up, his glasses are off and so is the TV. Someone put the kettle on the stove. There is someone else in his apartment. Sazz? Jan?
I think season 4 is a movie within and movie within OMITB show. So these guys are being followed by hidden cameras. This is what the movie will show. The Writers and Producers of the movie along with Saz's help is constructing a fake scene to show how this trio work. Saz said in season 3 ending that she may have passed out the key to others. The film crew took over the whole building. This is why we rarely see our favorite characters. Just a guess of course.
Me Too! Eugene Levy's profile is the one showing entering Charles apartment. It's almost like they pieced together a fake Agatha Christie Murder on the Orient Express? Also the theme of Ham. Everyone is hamming it up? the murder has been hammed?
Marshall being a fake makes sense, but I feel it’s still to obvious. In season 2 it was Cinda’s assistant and they didn’t let on to that until the end. I was on the brother sister trail until they heavy handed implicated them in this episode. But they did make a point about Marshall having exceptional vision. Helpful for a long range shot. Could have left it with, “I don’t need glasses.”
When i travel cross the country, i usually change to local time. that would leave no discrepancy for what EST Sazz left the voicemail. Idk, that's how i saw that scene

Where I am in total agreement is that Sazz was “involved” (writer or source) for the script, and Marshall is a fraud-and taking full credit for writing the script. It “very probably” makes Marshall the person behind the real/or attempted shooting of Sazz. But, it also works if this is a “secondary” crime-and Sazz is alive & in hiding. I’m feeling like there’s a murder that will happen in the next episode (or may have happened at the end of Episode #5) that’s connected to the Cold Case murder in the West Tower from years ago.
So, the attempted murder of Sazz had to do with Marshall stealing the script; whereas, the Cold Case is the Real Crime, and may have something to do with Dudenoff & the folks in the West Tower.
Finally, as you guys mentioned in this video: don’t discount Loretta. One of my previous theories is that Loretta was a former “Working Girl” in the West Tower (when she was struggling in the early days of her career), and doesn’t want a deep dive into the Dudenoff Brothel operation, because it will reveal her secret.

The cold case is definitely a thing, there has to be a reason it was brought up in episode 1.
I love the idea of a new death in the next couple of episodes that becomes the “real” case that gets solved using clues we’ve gotten in episodes 1-5 on suspect behaviors etc.
This would allow Sazz to be alive as a super satisfying reveal
I think the issue with the voicemail time is more likely to suggest that Bev wasn’t actually in LA the night she says she was. Maybe she was on the east coast, which is why the time was right on her phone. The location your phone shows you isn’t where the call is coming from, just where the area code of the caller is.

I think Sazz didn't write Tap In with her blodd but Taping, as in "someone is taping you". Hence why Marshall knows the trio well.
Adding more fodder to the Len/Marshall theory ... Tying into the "twin/doubles" theme, the fact that Marshall has a fake beard and Glenn sports a real (?) beard lends itself to a fraternal twins angle. Without his glasses -- Marshall doesn't need them since he as 20/20 vision -- they could be mistaken for each other in the dark because they're also similar in stature. This could come in handy if either needs an alibi or "proof" that they were present or in proximity some evening or future suspicious time in question. Regardless, love these theories!

Maybe Bev was actually in NY when Sazz called. Has her alibi been confirmed?
Marshall and Glen is an intriguing theory, but the one detail I can’t reconcile is how they would have (or could have) partnered up for such an elaborate ruse?
Like yeah, they both have motivation, but how would they have met? There’s zero indication that Marshall was an industry player big enough to track Glen down (or vice versa.)

@117Derek put the idea into my head that someone could have been calling Bev as Sazz... and to that, perhaps there is someone that's involved who knows how to imitate voices... and who was texting with Charles pretending to be Sazz in the first episode...???
Fake beard is suspicious, way to excited to be a suspect and he's living his dream watching them trying to figure it out.

Me too. Especially since the show made sure we saw the display on Bev Melon’s phone that read “11:07 p.m.”. AND “Los Angeles.” It’s a solid piece of evidence: the phone display can’t be faked. The only other possibility is someone impersonating Sazz’ voice. But, I don’t think so.

Sazz did sound a little angry... which is out of character for her... i still think Helga is involved! in fact... i think the only murder this season is whosoever, if anyone, was killed on the last episode... i don't believe Sazz was murdered and i don't believe Charles to be a target... fully!

@@117DerekLos Angeles just means that the number leaving the message has a Los Angeles area code, which Sazz's phone would. It doesn't indicate location of the caller or receiver.
Now the time stamp is still a mystery because that would show in the time zone of the receiving phone (Bev's). That means either
The call came in at 2:07 AM New York time because Bev was at that event today n CA, or
Bev and/or her phone were in New York (or anywhere in the Eastern time zone I suppose, but no. NYC area for sure) when Sazz left the message.
that last scene on this video where Glenn says to Marshall, "Ah, where'd you get that beard, Lassie?"... do you think he knew the beard was a fake and still thought it was Mabel? or do you simply think he thought he was talking to Mabel?

The only problem I have with all the theories is it’s too early for it to be Marshall. This is a distraction. I’m still stuck on Bakula

New comment/theory…season 5 is the last one for OMITB, which leads me to think we may not get a resolution for Sazz’s death in season 4.
We’re halfway through and literally everyone is still a suspect. I feel like the show is big enough to have a grand finale that might span two seasons.
Steve Martin said that there will be a resolution to the murder by the end of each season, & the murderer will be revealed by the end of each season.

There was so many clues pointing to Marshall as the killer it has to be misdirection, the writers are too smart. Bakula did it
