To us hardcore Hiroshima fans finding this is video is like finding the motherlode. I have loved this group since the first time hearing them in 1986 and to thus day I’m still a hardcore fan
Pat is only interviewing one of the greatest Koto players in the world and she refers to herself as "okay" and it's SENDING me!!! June Kuramoto is LEGEND! 🥰
Saw them in 90, in Joliet IL, with Bobby Caldwell opening up for them. It was just a fabulous night of great music, by two bands I’ve followed for going in a fourth decade.
Also saw them during the same tour in Los Angeles at the Universal Amphitheater. Bobby was great, Johnny Mori was amazing on the Kobuki Drums; and June was electric-firing on the Koto!
Sajak asking June Kuramoto if she was a very good Koto player was insulting as hell JUST after he heard her play. What a bore. No wonder he didn't last as a host. She's a master for God sake. 04:50
Thank you for posting this. Been searching high and low for Margaret Sasaki-Taylor and how she looked like, having been a fan of Come to Me song. Machun's voice is really amazing in that one.
GOOD GOD I LOVE THIS BAND! I'm so glad I came across this. I've been listening to them since I was about 5 years old. My mom was always about introducing us to good music. The first song I heard from them was "A thousand Cranes" then "Come To Me." They are my all time favorite band and God bless them always. Forever Hiroshima!
I chanced across this video by scrolling down on "311" from my phone's playlist. Any song or performance by Hiroshima is well worth listening/watching. Especially June's dancing.
Is there any video of Teri Kusumoto as vocalist? I remember seeing Hiroshima on the roof of the Bonaventure Hotel in LA in 1979. She was such a charismatic vocalist.
I just turned 61, but digitizing all these old beta tapes - none of which I've seen since the original beta machine broke down in the 90s - has been like time traveling! I spend whole days at a time in a year like 1989, duping betas - and then it's startling when I turn on a current TV station and see something like a person using a cell phone! "Holy cow, I'm in the FUTURE now!" I may be the last person in America still using a betamax almost every day ---
A unique and truly great band in every sense. I bought this album immediately after seeing them for the first time on TV. Dan Kuramoto an excellent song writer; June K. said to be the best koto player in the world; singer Machun sets the stage afire with talent.
One Wish only needs June’s beautiful koto and the backing keyboards and percussion. Any other instrumental embellishment kills the soothing vibe of this piece . Just my opinion
lol ...Pat Sajak had his own short-lived late night tv show which only lasted one season. It was call The Pat Sajak Show and tenor saxophonist Tom Scott was the bandleader.
It was his talk show. CBS gave him an opportunity at his own late night talk show called The Pat Sajak Show in 1989, which he had left the daytime broadcast network Wheel Of Fortune on NBC at the time to do, and only lasted one season.

Me too!
Yes I grew up listening to them !

Thanks for posting the titles of the two songs with the golden age I couldn't figure out what the name of that one was good looking out
Pat is only interviewing one of the greatest Koto players in the world and she refers to herself as "okay" and it's SENDING me!!! June Kuramoto is LEGEND! 🥰
I miss the Hiroshima of the 1980s
Me too loved the music no singing 😅
Saw them in 90, in Joliet IL, with Bobby Caldwell opening up for them. It was just a fabulous night of great music, by two bands I’ve followed for going in a fourth decade.
Wish I could have been there .Here's a funny story. BOBBY CALDWELL'S MANAGER BY MISTAKE CALLED BY CELL PHONE . Can you believe that ???
Also saw them during the same tour in Los Angeles at the Universal Amphitheater. Bobby was great, Johnny Mori was amazing on the Kobuki Drums; and June was electric-firing on the Koto!
LEGENDS. I JUST found these guys and if you see this....THANK YOU for creating great music
Been a fan for over 20 years
Loved them almost 30 years!
She is so talented and beautiful!!!!!
Love it
Great clip of the band during their release of the album/CD "East". Margaret Sasaki-Taylor on vocals for "The Golden Age".
I saw them when they had Barbara Long on lead vocal in 1987
I saw them in Hawaii - the year “Hawaiian Electric” was their HIT
I remember when Pat Sajak had a late night show! Too bad I missed this one! Hiroshima has some good music!
Terri Kusamoto was Hiroshima’s best vocalist. Period!
Still give the nod to Barbara Long. Both are very good, but I think Barbara sings more from the soul.
@@ravensrob2732 Barbara Lang stan here
I miss the Hiroshima of the 1980s
May I know whose the original vocalist? Thanks.
Yes! I L❤VE
Barbara Long's sexy and feminine voice.
I love Hiroshima 's song 311 sung by Barbara Long.
I agree with you @@ravensrob2732
Is that Alan Hinds in the guitar?
I attended many of their concerts here in So. Cal but at the Greek Theatre with Machun..wow! what amazing vocals and a gorgeous lady!
Bought the LP East back in 1990, have always loved Hiroshima. Thanks for posting this video!!

To be fair, how would a non-East-Asian American even know the instrument?
I love that said she just just an alright Koto player, just to clap back at him 😄😄😄
I hated that show like go back to Vanna, solve puzzles and spinning the Wheel of fortune
Thank you for posting this. Been searching high and low for Margaret Sasaki-Taylor and how she looked like, having been a fan of Come to Me song. Machun's voice is really amazing in that one.
Killer Keyboards! I see a Roland A50 and Yamaha DX7.
they played the tracks
1. The Golden Age
2. One Wish

I'm only 21* but I desperately wish I was alive back then and this time never ended
(Edit: was 19 when I made this comment)

Awesome video! Awesome performance! I haven't listened to Hiroshima in years!
This is the best of love, reminded me of my ex husband Ronald Larriett Sr. In Alabama. All the guys on the cv-64 listen to this Japan music. Love ya
Wow! Margret Taylor...maybe she's not from from Original Band List, but she's a Great Singer...She's One of the Pinkfloyd backup Singer.

Oh so 😮 wowwww
Thanks a lot🔥
A best of two worlds band
I... never knew of this video until now. How did I not know about this?!
It didn’t help that Pat Sajak never caught on as a late night talk show host. It only lasted one season.
Fantastic
Вони просто неймовірні!
saw them in 1987 & 1989 & 2003
2021 masih enak didenger cuiiiii

BOYS AND GIRLS I FOUND A CD IN A CD CASE ON TOP OF A TRASH CAN WITH THE CD ANOTHER PLACE IN IT AND IT IS SIGNED BY ALL THE MEMBERS INCLUDING THE CD
If anybody finds “one fine day” performance on soul train @ me
Wow,she can swing it.
One Wish only needs June’s beautiful koto and the backing keyboards and percussion. Any other instrumental embellishment kills the soothing vibe of this piece . Just my opinion
I liked HIROSHIMA next ABBA&NOLANS!
I don’t know which late night show this is. I hope he was just a guest host. Stick to Wheel of Fortune , Pat.

Not impressed by Sakak.
Ignorance is bliss!
The Pat Sajak Show only lasted one season and he had left the daytime broadcast network Wheel Of Fortune on NBC at the time to do it.
