    The cherry blossoms are indeed beautiful and the villages too. I can imagine the steep hills are a challenge but what a feeling one has when you get to the top!!!😅

      Slow and steady for all hills. It might take longer of course, but my body thanks me afterward LOL. Great day hike.

    Enjoy your videos. Starting mine in April. Doing a portion of CF then San Salvador and Primitivo.

      That’s awesome, I’m excited for your upcoming Camino (3 Camino in one trip, wow). April is a good time, cooler weather and still some solitude on trail. Hope you’ll get nice weather and enjoy the Camino magic. I’m preparing for Camino Ingles in a few weeks. It will be a wet Camino, always raining in Galicia. Hope you have a Buen camino Rick. Thanks for watching.

      Thanks so much for your kind words. Glad you enjoyed it. It was fun for me to put it together. Met a lot of fellow German peregrino on the Camino Frances and the Primitivo. Good talks. Very friendly people.

    The Primitivo: a very quiet camino. I liked it a lot.
    It was a different camino 😊

      The Primitivo is very challenging, but beautiful trail. Not in season end of March so not a lot of peregrino on trail. I enjoyed the solitude daily. So lucky with the weather, absolutely gorgeous.

    It is amazing journey. This is the first route that King Alfonso back in the 9th century took when he made his first pilgrimage to Santiago! Burn Camino!

    Wonderful to see you back on the Camino, I enjoyed your journey with your family immensely and will look forward to following your walk on the Primitivo . I've not walked it yet, so will be paying close attention lest I get the chance to walk it myself one day.
    Buen Camino and the best of luck to you 🙏🏼

      It’s great to be back on the Camino. The trail are more challenging than Camino Frances. The view on top are stunning and breathtaking. Still a work in progress to convince the wife to do Camino Porto with the kids LOL. Thanks for watching Sean. Buen Camino!

    I like your positive outlook especially when you’re looking at the end of the stage and “another hill” … that gives me great perspective

    • @Gettinglostonthetrail

      Lots of up and down throughout the day. The last 100 km from Lugo to Santiago relatively flat, but anything before Lugo lots of up and down. That’s why training is crucial. Train with backpack, train with hills. When close to departure do a hike with full gears on and I bet you, you’ll want to leave something behind to make your bag lighter, I know I did LOL. Make sure you dial in on your gears. Very important your shoe. Boots not necessary, only if you need ankle support. I did in Altra trail runner. Size up half a size or full size, end of day your feet will swell and also if you want to wear thicker sock or double sock (injinji toe socks) to prevent blisters. But yeah, being positive is very important on the Camino. Not every day is sunny, green trail, and birds chirping etc. Have no choice but to push forward to get to the place for the night. Lots of life lesson to be learn on the Camino for sure.

      @@Gettinglostonthetrail I was gonna ask about your altras! I use them myself! I love my lone peak trail runner, I saw they have a hiking “boot”, but you think not necessarily any better I’ll stick with what I have. Would you recommend bringing a regular pair of running shoes and a pair of sandals also?

    • @Gettinglostonthetrail
      @Gettinglostonthetrail  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I love my Altra Lone Peak. Successfully finished Camino Frances, 500 miles, in them. Flat with no traction left when got to Santiago, but no blister or problem whatsoever. That’s why I got the exact same pair for the Primitivo. Remember, no extra weight, your back will thank you. I wouldn’t bring extra shoes. Definitely bring the lightest pair of sandal you can find. Good for end of the day or for the shower if you stay at an albergue.

      Glad you enjoy it Jenny. Using a DJI mini 2. Recorded on a GoPro 10. Put video together using iMovie on Apple phone. No color grading etc, as is, nothing professionally done here LOL. Agreed, I got lucky with the weather.

It’s challenging, but the trail are just beautiful. Meet a fellow peregrino wearing Altra Olympus, like you mentioned, I’ll definitely will get one for future big hike. Buen Camino Anton.

    Can you please do a quick gear video...shoes etc.?

    • @Gettinglostonthetrail
      @Gettinglostonthetrail  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There are lots of great gear review out there. Nothing special with mine. Keep it light as possible and believe that the Camino provides. I can’t do boots because it rub against my ankle so I opted for Altra Lone Peak trail runner. It successfully carried me through Camino Frances and surely it will too with the Primitivo. 1.5 liters of water and a food bag for snacks/food. Spare under garments, hiking clothes, toiletries, and some medicine. Again, light as I can. My body really thank me at the end of the day.

    • @Gettinglostonthetrail
      @Gettinglostonthetrail  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lots of video on the Primitivo on TH-cam. I just wanted to share my journey. Each Camino is different for everyone. I’m doing the Camino solo so I wanted something a little more challenging, but at the same time I need solitude. I was lucky with the weather and been getting gorgeous weather. Lots of hills, but when on top the views are just spectacular. Thanks for watching.
