You have a great channel, with great resources.
I wish i had of found it before i became an inspector. But I still enjoy waching.
You should aso show some of these newer guys, not onky how to use the fillet guages and bridge cam gauges, but show th3m how to calculate for convexity and concavity. So many people don't understand or just don't know how to calculate for these. I.e measuring off of the theoriectical throat for concavity and calculating off of the length of the weld face for convexity.
I think that would be a good lesson to learn. Showing them that doing this isn't all about p,aying with the fancy tools, but doing some actual math and having to remember formulas
I love your videos, lots of interesting information I have learned. Just one thing about the fillet gage.
It's not convex and concave. The first (convex as stated in the video) side is to measure your actual leg of the fillet, the second side is to measure the actual throat of the weld. If the center touches from both the top and bottom, you have your actual throat. If it doesn't, than it's concave. You can measure how much concavity you have by measuring the distance between the fillet gage and the weld face.

My feedback Is for measurement of thickness at thin tube the techinique showed Will be inaccurate, I Will use the Sharp section of the jaws un the caliper or a needle point micrometer

Good video. What is the advantage of the hi lo that you show in the video over the v wac?
Do you recommend to use the convex side of a gauge when measuring a bead that looks basically flat? I've struggled with that, where when using one side of the gauge (whether the convex or concave side) the weld looks like it in tolerance, but from the other side its not, and its not clear if the weld is concaved or convexed in because the cross section seems to look like a perfect right triangle against the parent material. I love all your videos, but this one is a keeper! i've watched this so many times I lost count. Part B is a drag. Please keep these coming!
How do you know what is a legitimate crack on the edge, or other imperfections/discontinuities, etc. ,and what is just damage from being used over time? Plastic models don't seem to be very good for this type of test.
I have a set of these replicas and they make discontinuities and defects pretty obvious visually for the most part
