I've never thought to work stitches like the half double crochet two together like you did in this hat. I love how it almost looks like a little puff stitch. I still have a few rows to work to finish my hat, but I did it in a solid color and those hdc2tog really shine. I'll definitely be finishing this up after my doctor's appointment today :-) Thank you for another wonderful hat pattern! So appreciate your creativity!

What is the brand of yarn you are using please?
❤ question: I have 5 weight and followed you to 60 sts. Then I continued mine looked like it was not looking like a hat. I tried a L, J, now I'm on a I crochet hook and still looks funky. What am I doing wrong. I made the one with single crochet and I made your double crochet hat with 4 weight 😮 I'm confused, help. This is the 3rd time of ripping it out and starting over. Oh ya it looks like a round flat nit looking like a hat
It takes many rows to look like a hat... but I do believe a 5 weight is too big of a yarn for this hat
@BAGODAYCROCHET the reason for the 5 weight is I was trying match the cowl I made from one of your patterns. 😆
So I thought I would make a hat to go with it.
Same hats I sent pic to you but different yarn n wayyyy harder method.
I've never had so much problem to make a toque .. love the stitches but I tried 4 different times and it always like a pancake . So disappointed .. never like a toque !
