Feels rather like an abuse of actors to design costumes so much for looks & so little for comfort? Esp. when they and their stunties will be in the gear for such long periods, in such conditions, doing such strenuous work. I'd love to see more consideration given to practicality and ease & safety of movement. I think the guys & gals maybe both have it hard, in different ways? Some guys' superhero suits seem to be very built-up & restrictive of movement - think of Batman e.g., or Black Panther's hyper-elasticated suit, or Iron Man, or Spiderman as quoted here. Whereas the emphasis for female costumes seems to be on prioritizing 'sexy' over comfort...? Skintight, silly cleavage, stupid heels or "combat wedges" (see the hilarious Jill Bearup on that!), and long hair always getting in the way thanks to wind machines...
Actors should choose comfort in their personal lives. If they choose comfort in their work life, then their skill set will become weak and their performance won’t create an impact to the audience.
I mean, they’re making millions in those suits, so it can’t be THAT bad. Besides, all they’re suits probably still allowed them to take a pee, unlike all the Batman ones.
No yuh I really ont get how da MCU is supposedly updatin & modernizin costumes from da comics den why ont dey jus style da costumes ina easy way to get off & on while lookin good I could draw up a couple concepts rn itd be especially gud if I had onea my cosplay friends ta help me
So don't take the millions for playing the part. JK, I'm sure those suits and conditions can be really awful, buuuuut that is why they make millions to do it. BTW: I can't stand Brie as a person, but where do you sign up to help her in and out of her costume? She would probably be the ultimate hatef*ck!
